I recently, bought a new computer, I tried TF2 out on this computer. It was usually 60-120 FPS when no one was attacking.
When I jump into those big fights, it goes down to about 20.
Anything that would help me fix this lag?
I tried FPS config, it still stayed the same. |

Specs?
Also, you might need to update your drivers if you're getting low FPS on a Source game on an apparently decent-good machine.

There's your problem right there.
E-series APUs are weak as hell, shouldn't be used for gaming.

Put 'em down to low if you aren't upgrading; I doubt it'll make much of a difference.
I'd say upgrade soon, you won't get far with the current build.

Options, then Video.
You can also assign some launch codes to TF2 (and all Source games) to increase CPU priority, lock DirectX level, ect. that will make the game even smoother; look that up and learn how to do it.

I already tried it. Didn't make much of a difference.
I have chris's fps config (maxframes) installed. Doesn't make much of a different either. |

My suggestion would be to build a new PC.
There are a couple of guys here who can help you out.

Will it cost money?
My dad is a computer engineer, he can build a computer.

If you can get someone like Meldo he can build you a $300-400 PC that can run today's games at medium settings.
Then again your main concern is TF2 so you don't require something as powerful.

I tried to squeeze it under $400, but spending an extra $10 shouldn't be too much I hope.
A10's integrated graphics should be fine for Source games, as long as you aren't playing at super-high resolutions (basically any resolution over 1080p).
If you ever need to kick your graphics up a notch you can always buy a new GPU when you're playing more graphics-intensive games.
Tell me if you want any changes.

Yeah, don't buy any pre-builts.
You can spend the same price if not much lower for a build that will be much better for your money.

He says his dad is a computer engineer and can build a PC.
His dad could always build a PC for his son free of charge.

| If you just bought a 400$ E-1 AMD Processor, boy do I have some news for you. You could of waited 3 months and got a brand new Intel Haswell from Toshiba for the same price. |

| The most basic advice I could give you is put your video options to low and set your resolution lower than it is now. |

I can relate to you, I have a 5 year old PC. Here's some advice from me: Go to advanced settings, and put EVERYTHING down to it's lowest setting, and the lowest graphics as well. Either that, or build your own computer if you aren't lazy. It will cost you a solid 300-400 dollars, It will be worth your savings. Hope this helps. |
