This is just an OPINION. Coming from a VAK's side of view.

I think that the new design was made so that spawncamping (which was probably a huge complaint) is now impossible, but it presents other problems.

In the old SMO, there were 3 routes for the raiders, all leading to a central point, which lead to flanking, and possible escape if you were quick and able to kill VAC/VAK

But the new SMO presents the problem of a impossible scenario for soloraiders - sure, they can't be SK'd, but there isn't a way to escape the emorphous mass that is a large bowl of VAC and VAK in the down below the raider 'ledge' that's apart of the new layout, and even with an egg, it provides limited chance of actually getting yourself lost in the map, and away from confrontation of VAC/VAK.

I'd like to think that raiders like to stick to moving around the map, and single confrontations, but the new layout makes this impossible.

I'm not sure if there's still a "raider base" which nullifies this, but I've yet to see it, still exploring the new layout.

Other than that, I still think the base functions fine, there's a few new tweaks here and there, but I really hope that this fort design gets moved onto something new quickly.

Like Kaznan 2.0, or something.

I like the new one better.
And VAK/VAC can still spawnkill, with the grenades.

Going out onto the ledge no longer constitutes as Spawn Killing

No, spawnkilling would be going up, into your raider cave, and killing the people on the spawn

Last time I checked, the raider "cave" actually isn't a cave.
That was a week or so ago.
As I lasted checked, it's not a cave, it's just a little 3 stud inlet, that protects from bullets, but isn't far enough back to stop grenades from killing.

HD, I'm talking about the new SMO update.

The one where the raiders spawn inside a small, intricate cave, and pop out of what used to be the 3 stud inlet, onto a much larger ledge, and into the main swamp area.

@fred man, actually this new update will put an end to solo raiding. i've got it down to 350 like 3 days ago, before this new update

& im pretty sure no point of raiding for me caus im banned on all the accounts i got left haha.
