All data in your PC can be represented by 1 big number. For example, "GreatWeasel" could be represented by the number "86373953115171040486840266".
If you stored the number "86373953115171040486840266" in a computer you would get "GreatWeasel" when reading it as a string.
But all data in the PC can be represented by a single number.
Fun fact: the Happy Birthday song is still copyrighted. The first verse to the Happy Birthday song is stored as this number: 438954004262436564820882644248848686606446644286888288844620846428486046068480064080460006642624804642884268280264246068462226204228240204822248400806828248266002666246688886066624642422008426222488288200240868844864840826082226244
This meaning, if you had this number on you, it is techically illegal.
Think about other things. Illegal music. Illegal movies. Everything you have ever pirated is, inside of your computer, represented by a number.
Meaning, it is literally illegal to own that number. If you own that number, you are breaking copyright laws.

>"Things are stored by numbers? What? Do you mean binary?"
Yes. Binary is stored like this: 01001000 01101001
That's 2 bytes for "H" and "i". However, those bytes "0100100001101001" form the number "18537". |
