------------------------------Renewed Embers---------------------------------------------------------
He was born in Gondolin, the fairest city of the Noldor. Gondolin was a massive city in the encircling mountains, the encircling mountains circled with a plain into the middle of the circle. The plains in the center was enormous with rivers flowing through it. In the center on a large hill, was Gondolin. Gondolin spiraled up from the largest ring to the smallest constantly repeating till it met the end, the Great Tower. Gondolin had many districts, the Grand Market, Scholary, Residentials, Royal, Military and more. Gondolin would not fall without a great struggle.
Coven was born to parents of great power within Gondolin both in the house of Scholars and Loremasters. For years he studied himself as a Loremaster, especially in the arts of using the elements to full power. Knowing how to create fire with a single thought, cracking the ground below him with a weak hit, and bending the water as if it was a stick. Coven highly befriended the Great Eagles at Gondolin, one Great Eagle, Iûl promised to aid Coven in his studies and follow him. Coven one day, went to the Gond Parf, a library shop in the Grand Market. There he met with the librarian, a close friend of him for he often visited the library. He asked the Librarian, whom name was Punnli if she had a special book, "Bol Bara ah Iul" a book written by the first renown Loremaster. Punnli doubted that even her great library would not have the book. However, they went into a tower in the library that took them up to the top. She opened the door of the tower and walked upon a bridge that lead to another tower, connecting to the bridge but not the library itself with only the flat stone bridge to enter the other tower. Coven followed her, as she opened the door to the other tower she had to go through a series of locks and chains to finally open the door. When she opened it, a small room was revealed. A ring around the center of the ring, the bookcases for golden and made of wood and the books in it were all locked in display cases in the bookshelves or their own case. The librarian looked around for a moment and she caught her eye on something in the center of the room, where a large collum going up through it into the roof had multiple shelves with books. She took a book from one of the small circular shelves and look at it for a moment. This was one of the few copies of Bol Bara ad Iul. She handed it to Coven saying that he must guard it with his life for it has the ability to bring the greatest flame to Arda. Coven agreed to guard it with all caution and left, thanking her. His eagle, Iul was waiting outside. Iul spoke "Did you retrieve the book?", "Yes. It was guarded like Angbad." Where shall we go then, Master Coven?" the Eagle asked, "To my practice area." Coven's practice area was a ledge on the Encircling Mountains. Coven safely practiced using lore here due to the rock, wood, ore, and water in that general. Coven and Iul flew to the ledge, the book Coven has been searching for, for 50 years was revealed to be where he started and now he would finish his quest. The book would teach him everything, to enlighten a horrific yet majestic flame that would be able to scorch a forest side and melt skin off a bone. As Coven was to open the book, the Gondolin Bell Towers rang. Coven and Iul knew what this meant. It meant that Gondolin, the hidden Elven city was revealed and that Morgoth would soon unleash his armies upon the Noldor who he hated above all other Elves the most.
---------------------------------------------Enduring Embers------------------------------------------
Coven quickly closed the book, knowing that by time a page from the book was read the Orcish archers who would be in this army would see him upon the ledge with his Great Eagle. He locked it with a sturdy chain it had came with and he mounted Iul. They flew to the District of Entwignment which was where all news would be shared. A Steward stepped upon a large gazebo in the middle of this district and announced that Great Eagles and Scouts have spotted smoke, fire, and enemies approaching the paths up the Encircling Mountains and onto the Seven Gates. All able Elves were to fight for Gondolin. Eagles and even a few Ents were at this announcement and agreed to fight with the Elves. Coven directed Iul to fly to the Havens of Sirion for he knew that if Gondolin fell, that would be one of the few places the Elves could retreat to. Iul, with the book strapped on his back as well as armour newly equipped on him, flew out of the Encircling Mountains. Coven look at the mountains and saw that the army did not take the hidden path, but literally walked over the mountain. They swarmed the south and east sides of the mountain. The Lords directed that Coven go to the outer walls and crack the earth beneath the siege machines as well as set them on fire. A massive army gathered around the walls of the outer-ring, all were equipped with bows and arrows, javelins, or a staff which Loremasters used to conduct the elements, especially lightning. When the enemy was in sight, hundreds and thousands of Orcs mainly, multiple Elven commanders let out a command and arrows pelted the army. It was like the Orcs were immobile with the arrows piercing their armour and knocking them down, forming small hills of bodies. For a hour this went on, until the siege machines were able to make their way. They were made of metal, thus not able to be set on fire. Coven held up his staff and pointed it towards one of the siege machines, if the machine would not crumble from fire on flame then it would be melted. In the back of the machine was a engine running on internal flames of Morgoth, if it spilled then the machine would be melted. Coven concentrated and after a single breath the metal pot the internal flame was being held in tipped over and cracked open inside the machine. The trolls that were pushing it drop the handles for they no longer had hands to hold it or feet which to stand on. However, this process was not able to be done constantly. For Dragons and Balrogs neared.
--------------------------------------Fortifiying Embers-------------------------------------------------
As the Dragons and Balrogs approached the Loremasters gathered together on a section of the wall, together they cracked the earth. Some rise the earth under the machines that approached, knocking them backwards onto the army and some dented the earth so the machines would topple over forwards. For a while the Balrogs and Dragons looked so small in the distance, but now they appeared in front of the walls like giant warriors sent by Morgoth with only one purpose, to destroy the Elves. A machine that was industructable came forth before the Balrogs and Dragons, it smashed through the walls and lead way for the Orcs, Wargs, Trolls, and Wolves. Coven was commanded to guard the Gates of Gondolin. He rushed toward them along with a host of his house. He met with the House of Edain at the gates. A Balrog was seen through the last gate, tearing it apart with a sword made out of fire it looked of the sorts. Coven and the Loremasters braced the wood with their knowledge of the elements while the warrior house braced it with other objects. Finally after a hour, the final gate broke and war was truely unleashed inside of Gondolin. A Balrog first entered, Glorfindel a prince of Gondolin rushed toward the Balrog. He commanded the Loremasters to smack the Balrog with fire, they pushed the Balrog eventually out of the threashold of the gate, who fell back along the walls that secured every gate. The path lead up to the city, which walls were aligned with and gates in the middle. The Balrog indeed fell against the wall, cracking it. Coven knew that his weight would not break the strong stone, he used his knowledge of stone and metal to bend it parts of it to rubble. Eventually the Balrog fell into a pond on the side of the path and out of Gondolin. Glorfindel charged and jumped down onto the Balrog and was not seen for a long while. Coven and his fellow Elves put defence against the threashold of the Gate which was nothing but rubble for as long as possible until something crept through the side of the paths walls, a Great Spider appeared and attacked the Elves who now retreated. The Elves had to make way up a path into the Grand Market, Coven however took a different path and entered the Scholars Ditsrict. Coven gathered all of the books he could and burned them so the enemy could not gain hold of the Elves secret knowledge. He turned to a gateway to the Grand Market and went their to reinforce the Elves who would likely need his aid in the incoming enemies.
----------------------------------Extiquishing Embers--------------------------------------------------
The Grand Market had a interesting layout, there were three ramps up into the Grand Market each with its own gate. Behind it lay a small clear area, and behind it was stairs to the right facing the south of the market which lead to the actual market. A large ammount of Spear Wardens and Warriors gathered at the gate with all that remains of Gondolin's archers. Glorfindel returned after this spreading word that he defeated the Balrog and casted it down from the Encircling Mountains. At this moment they heard the gates shatter and burst open, Orcs and Goblins some mounted on Wargs and Spiders charged through however many fell. Coven swung his staff in a circle turning himself in a circle as well and his staff lands on the head of a Orc. He slammed the bottom of his staff on the ground, kneeling down nearly and the stone shaked and the enemies around him fell on their backs. Archers constantly fired until the enemy themselves had archers to their aid. Glorfindel charged forward, hitting a enemy upward, turning and slicing a enemy and finally landing his sword across a enemies neck till it fell to the ground. Coven was being swarmed all around him, until a Elf with a spear shot it at a orc behind Coven, he jumped down from the stairs to Coven's aid. Slashing his way through the enemies and dissapearing in the crowd. The Elves had to retreat back to the top of the Grand Market, Turgon had returned far from this time and was fighting his way to the Grand Market. He on top of a Ent carrying him there commanded that everyone stay strong, for the Residental Districts above the Grand Market ring held many civilians and the only escape route out of Gondolin. Turgon, and every Lord of the Houses gathered here. 1,000 Elves left with 10 Ents and 15 Great Eagles. Another gate held the top ring of the Market. If the Market fell then Gondolin would be destroyed.
--------------------------------Crashing of Stone-------------------------------------------------------
Coven and his fellow allies readied themselves for this upcoming battle. You could see the wings of Dragons and Balrogs and hear the constant screams of machines and Orcish creatures. Finally, the metal gate fell with five battering rams hitting it. 500 Arrows were released along with spears and various elements such as lightning clinging from the clouds coming down. The Elves with little number actually pushed back the enemies out of the final ring, Ents hurled pieces of Gondolin such as the ground and houses at the enemies while the Eagles, staying low, swooped at the melee warriors while archers of the Elves shot other archers to prevent the Eagles being injured. Turgon ran towards a Tyrant, the highest possible rank achieved by a Orc, he upwards slashed the Orcs chest, he turned around in a circle with his sword slicing his waist, and landed his sword through the Tyrant's arm. With the Tyrant falling the Orcs, Goblins, and Wargs were without leadership and without courage except for a Dragon in their ranks. Glorfindel, climbed up the head of the dragon and reaptivly smashed its head, even controlling its neck and aiming it for the enemies. When the Dragon fell, so did all courage of the enemy. Coven felt like everything was worth so, for the enemy finally gave and for one of the first times in this battle the enemy was being pushed out of the fair realm. Step by step, swords, spears, arrows, talons, and boulders. However, a great noise unleashed through the plains which this fair city was in. Coven looked behind him, and he saw the Great Tower fall. The Great Tower fell and slid down the side of Gondolin, crushing the city destroying multiple parts of districts and putting down many enemies and Elven combatants. The tower slid down the Grand Market, crashing directly into their enemies. However most Ents were gone, and many Eagles advised the Elven King that his realm no longer was so. Turgon commanded that all Elves retreat to the residential district and make way for the secret caverns out of Gondolin. Coven was doing so when he saw a flash of gold in the sky. Iul along with his kin came down. Coven asked "Where is the book!" Iul showed that the book was still on him and that "I was watching from the skies, after a mile from Gondolin I heard the fall of much stone and knew that you'd be needed a rescue." Coven climbed onto the Great Eagle and so did other Elves. Turgon told him to make way for the Havens of Sirion as he and the Elven survivors would. With the destruction of most of the Noldor, Ents, and Great Eagles that faught in this battle as well as the fall of the Great Tower, slaying of two Elven Lords, and the collapse of the districts Gondolin fell, but Morgoth payed a heavy price. Most of the Orcs, Goblins, Wargs, and Werewolves that attacked were slain, and some Balrogs and Dragon-kind as well fell down to the power of the Elves. Coven's home was destroyed, his family and friends however were saved and taken to the Havens of Sirion, on Eagle or with Turgon. Coven flew at a amazing speed through the top of the clouds, he clutched the book that he had been searching for years and watched as he heard the army of Morgoth cheering. Coven swore to obtain revenge in any way for anyone who followed Morgoth.
