◘▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬◘ THE GREAT DEBATE
Politics has always been a pastime of many of the confederate officers and soldiers, and since the foundation of the confederate high council and the introduction of some democratic processes into the army structure of operation, politics has steadily grown as a staple part of the Confederate Officer culture. As of recent, the Confederate officers have been majorly split into two sections, the Coalitionists and the Fireonians. As coverage of this ongoing debate, i'm happy to announce the first in our "The Great Debate" series, where we will attempt to cover and present the arguments of each side in an unbiased manor. To kick off the series, i sat down and talked with the official leader of the Coalitionist party, OmegasquadBWA, and the ideological, unofficial leader of the Fireonians, Fireman3333, who this "movement" gets its namesake from.
Fireman, the ideological founder of the Fireonian movement, is the founder of the CSA, and currently a Major General and sitting member of the Confederate High Council. As a steeled veteran and the main figure in the founding and creation of our group, his guidance is the same guidance that built this group from nothing to what it is now. As the first heir to Fireman's position, and one of his close friends, i have worked closely with Fireman before, and was able to talk to him to find out where he stands on our government as of now.
R: As being the person the movement is named for, could you sum up the goals and perspectives of the Fireonians for me?
F: Well, we are a movement believing in a government dependent on Strong Executive Power and leadership, where the General's word is law when issues arise, and votes are not needed, as we find votes to be useless distractions and roadblocks in the process of army management.
R: Whats your opinion on the coalitionists? What do you think they do right? Wrong?
F: Hmm... Well... I believe what they stand for is more suitable for country than for a Army. They stand mainly for democracy, free speech, and voting on issues, and I see that as a roadblock to the operation of an army. I would say these processes slow down the operational capacity of the Confederate Army.
R: So are you against the existence of the High Council then?
F: No, of course not, the General does need to be able to hear everyone's opinion so as to make informed decisions, we aren't for any sort of dictatorship.
R: And do you believe the future of the CSA lies more with the Democratic processes of the Coalitionists, or the Centralized command structures of the Fireonians and the generals of old?
F: That's a tough question, but id like to believe we are heading to a more centralized era, but it is really hard to tell, and only time will be able to do that telling.
I'd like to thank fireman for taking the time to sit down with me and answer these questions.
*This interview has been edited after being recorded, and the wording of both questions and answers has been changed from their original form.
OmegasquadBWA, the leader of the long standing Coalitionist Party, currently serves in the CSA as a Lieutenant General, in the Confederate Cadet program as Head trainer, and also serves as Second in command to general Rangerrocks. Omega is a long serving veteran and skilled soldier and officer, and has long been an advocate of democratic processes for the operation of the Confederate Army. I had the honor of sitting down with Omega to speak to him about his Political Party and their beliefs.
R: So Omega, sum up the Coalitionist organization for me. It's Goals, objectives, history, etc.
O: Well, it was originally founded to organize opposition to the quick promotions through the ranks of people who have friends in the upper ranks of the officers, but it has now strayed off to advocating for more voting rights within the group.
R: And your main opposition, the Fireonians, what is your view on them? What do they do right? Wrong?
O: Well, i believe they're plain wrong. They seem to have very little support, at least among the lower ranks. As I've said, the reactionary ideology is not a very popular one today.
R: Do you really classify them as reactionary?
O: Not exactly, but they strive for more central control, so i am led to believe, and that can be considered reactionary as i know there was a time of no voting in the confederacy.
R: Ok, i see. So you call them reactionary because they want to return us to the way that the CSA used to run under myself and Fireman?
O: I was not here any time before you were leader, but yes. I was led to believe Fireman did not have a high council during her era.
R: No, it was very centralized back then. So do you believe the future of the CSA will lie in the hands of powerful Generals, reminiscent of old, or with the Council and more democratic notions of the present?
O: I have seen an increased wish for centralized command in the veterans than in the newer officers, but i believe the future will lie with whoever is more active and is able to push their goals and views on the administration.
I'd like to thank Omega for taking the time to sit down with me and answer these questions.

"The Great Debate" series will every week feature interviews and commentary from members of both the Fireonians and the Coalitionists, as we continue the coverage of this Political divide.
◘▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬◘ REFORMING OUR FUTURE
Another series that we at the Vanguard are proud to announce the first edition of is the continued coverage of the Confederate Reformations. This will also be a weekly series detailing and informing readers on the progress of reformations, and opinions on how they may affect the group and it's future. This series will feature interviews, though not on a weekly basis, and will be mostly a news series written by the Editor, Ryboy95.
After the recent publication of the "Manifesto on the Reformation of the Confederate Army" The upper echelon of the CSA has been thrown into a bit of a turmoil. With Ranger working towards meeting the goals outlined in the Manifesto on the reformation, reforms are sweeping through the Upper class, so far completed are three points of the Nine-point plan so far, and for those of you who have yet to read the nine- point plan, here is a small excerpt from the Manifesto.
"1. The Confederacy must seek new builders and inventors, and find a way to keep them in Confederate Service. 2. The Confederacy must facilitate the creation of a system of Continual Construction through the sorting of the best confederate Innovators into a "Guild", the applying a creation quota onto this guild, so as to ensure a minimum amount of publications are created per month 3. The Confederacy must enter a state of Perpetual war by seeking conflict with many opponents, and powerful ones. 4. The Confederacy must close the CMP 5. The Confederacy must outlaw the creation of regiments and special divisions other than the CSMC of non-combat confederate organizations. 6. The Confederate Academy must be re-established. While we may receive far fewer members, the only ones entering the group will be ones who have a drive to be in the group and succeed 7. The new General and his Council must Purge the CSA of all inactive or useless members, who serve no place in the CSA. 8. The High Council must be but to ten members and have a 6 month term imposed on all ten seats. 9. The High Council must draft a Confederate Mandate and have the new general swear to uphold and follow it."
- Special Thanks to myself for allowing myself to use my own material in my newspaper
So far as we have been informed as the public, points 4, 6, and 8. With these we can hope for a snowball effect which will eventually lead to the inclusion and carrying-through of all of the points outlined here, to the delight of some members and the anger of others. However the most important reform that has been made so far is most arguably the cutting of the council to ten members limited to a two month term. With this we will expect the council to become more responsible and to owe activity and service to our general. This new reformation is a great shift towards responsibility among st our officers, and the ultimate continuation of our activity.
The Cadets have re-opened! With the fulfillment of point six, and the re-establishment of our cadets, we can expect to see a drop in the number of recruits (for the better) now that there is a more stringent entry process to enter our army, only those who really care to enter the group will be the ones who get in, while the lazy and the un-willing will stay away rather than being allowed in. While there are those who argue this, i would put it to them that in ANY case, a small group of very active members, would any day trump a massive group with an extreme weight of inactivity that weighs on their members.
Point four, while a minor point, is a good step, it shows to us that even though the CMP was a long standing group, and one that some generals were afraid to finally put the chopping block, the Confederacy is willing to uproot tradition when it serves the betterment of the group. When a dead weight such as the CMP hangs on the group, but is an old tradition, there are those who are afraid to shut it down due to it's long standing name, and instead look the other way.
On the road to a brighter future, the new general has been eagerly dedicated to the completion and fulfillment of the full reformation. As a bright place for investment of time and service, the Confederacy is a promising group for the future.
