fallout 3 sucked

plotlines/character personality =/= software
fallout 2 had even worse software yet had a great plotline and the personalities were really amazing |

I've always liked Elder Scrolls more than Fallout... New Vegas is kind of better than Oblivion though, I guess.
Morrowind beats them all. |

I prefer Fallout 3, but NV was objectively better. It was more "Fallout"ish but I loved what 3 did. In 4, I hope to see a blend of 3's and NV's elements.

But Skyrim (objectively) was pretty terrible.

I borrowed this from a VGF friend. Thanks, altair55.
the pros: -the world is kinda big i guess -if you ignore the story entirely i guess you can kinda roleplay even though there's no stats or anything -large modding community since bethesda couldn't develop a polished game at gunpoint
the cons: -no attributes -bad story -bad combat (spam leftclick to win) -entire lack of difficulty -bad guilds -lack of variety in quests -linear dungeons with reused assets galore -lack of exploration elements -bad, copy/pasted civil war questline -bad graphics -only a few voice actors, there are approximately 3 voice actors that voice the entire Nord race -illusion of choice, when you have a choice it rarely if ever matters or affects the game -cities are tiny, the largest one has 10 houses and 30 points of interest including named NPCs -completely ruins a fair bit of established lore -lack of customization -lack of equipment variety -all weapons in each archetype feel the same -magic system is terrible, can't block while wielding magic and a sword (wtf?) -regenerating health -"streamlined" (see: casual) level up system, your only progression choices are in health, stamina, and magicka -generally uninteresting NPCs -bad 'radiant AI' -bad 'radiant quests' - they're the same quest (either kill or fetch) copy/pasted in a new location -boring and largely nonexistent random encounters

It's not the best game, but it's a good way to pass the time when there is nothing else to do |

That was directed more towards the guy who seriously thinks Skyrim is better than FO3/NV and Morrowind.
