Anybody ever made a cool NPC in ROBLOX with characters???
Litozonironsman or something made some pretty decent ones that walked around and shot at you and captured flags ( http://www.roblox.com/Call-of-Robloxia-5-AI-Domination-FPS-Guns-place?id=86803209 )
Today I made some sword fighter bots, still a bit buggy, http://www.roblox.com/Demo-NPC-sword-fights-place?id=67663353
ColourfulBody (JulienDethurens) made jBot? that had pathfinding and there was a youtube video where it did a small obstacle course? If i remember correctly.
Am i missing anything? Do any of you have your own projects related to NPCs, even if they don't use characters? And, any ideas to improve mine?
of course there are those zombies but I'm talking about proper, animated, weapon-yielding or just generally impressive things... |

A* pathfinding, weapons and all that stuff ;p |

| I've made a handful of AIs, most of them for the intent of pathfinding, however none of them have really succeeded in the way I've wanted. Got my roomba like raycasting thingy, my own flawed node path finder thingy, most recently a failed implementation of A* that degenerated into BFS and kinda works, but gets stuck under certain conditions. I just need to navigate a fair sized Town, that's all... One of these days. :c |

Non-Playing-Charaters characters is rudundant, hackneyed, and a buzz-word....
SpeedAI is a get-out-of-maze, on-the-fly, ray-pathdinder (no tables) script. The bosy is just a Humanoid.
NPC Wait Animation is a small, low-power, anti-lag, path-follower script, which just sits, around when no-one is around. Again no special body.
Blob Boss & Minions (may be busted by now) is code for a Boss Zombie Rocket Launcher, and his body-guard Zombies |

Take the code from SpeedAI, a town is no problem, and put as many dead-ends in as u want. He's a bit of a wall-hugger, but that makes him all the more Comando... |

a Rweally nice chunk to add to an AI system:
Very good looking and Efective at close range, is a Bread-Crumb-Dropping or GPS Traking system, about 10 to 20 lines from a Very old Modle of mine, Zombie Brains.
Have the Nearest Player drop Bread-Crumbs every 5 - 7 studs into your Map or Table, with where he gets to 5-7 studs from now; just a Vector3 Value of Position does it.
If the AI finds a Crumb along his route, he just starts flowing that path. Jump, when the next Y value is higher; he practically mimics Player.
Make the Bread Crumbs disintegrate after 1 or 2 minuts, as the info gets stale... |

Hit me-up anytime for Logic or AI coding, after FLII, goes out.
I was thingking of "Attack MArs" a Team comp stomp against hoards of different Aliens Air land & SEa, but limited & Stolen Ammo only, and die once, then join the Hoards of Aliens against Players, as a slug with a water gun. |
