How many of you are still interested in seeing a scripting guide authored by me? This guide will be Lua in particular, but I can also write a guide to HTA's (HTML Application, Microsoft) as well.
Post if you're interested in any of these guides:
A Guide to RBX.Lua Making Websites: A Guide to Style (CSS/HTML) Web Interactivity: VBScript Web Interactivity: Javascript The HTA and Its Uses (Guide) Working With Databases: Microsoft Access How-To: Quickie Reference for VBScript
Any/all feedback is welcomed and appreciated. Here is a summary of each:
~ A Guide to RBX.Lua Tutorial on Lua scripting using Roblox's unique API. Tutorials include basic Lua syntax, introduction to objects, introduction to events and working with metatables.
~Making Websites: A Guide to Style (CSS/HTML) Tutorial and discussion about HTML and CSS to make a nice-looking website. Does not include any programming, as HTML/CSS are neither scripting languages nor programming languages.
~ Web Interactivity: VBScript Tutorial and discussion about client-sided VBScript web scripting. Covers basic syntax, pros and cons, and limitations.
~ Web Interactivity: JavaScript Tutorial and discussion about client-sided JavaScript web scripting. Covers basic syntax, pros and cons, and limitations.
~ The HTA and Its Uses (Guide) Tutorial and discussion about the HTA file on Windows machines. Covers everything in Web Interactivity: VBScript and more. Also covers JavaScript.
~ Working With Databases: Microsoft Access Possibly one of the hardest guides to be made. Will only begin it if enough people want this.
~How-To: Quickie Reference for VBScript Reference manual for VBScript. Covers basic syntax and lists (most) methods of (most) objects in the language. Covers arguments, parameters, and return values. Also covers the different control structures.
If you have a suggestion for a guide that isn't listed, please do not hesitate to post it! |

| I think this would be better off in Scripters. |

| Ah. I still think just because of the nonexistence of a scripting help question, it should be in Scripters. |

I can't stand Scripters. This would be more in SH anyway because I'm discussing guides for scripting/markup.
The flamingo comment was toward ilikepie. |

| That would've been weird, because I never called you flamingo and you just randomly tell me to not call you flamingo. |

| So you're going to make what exactly? Like a Gui guide? A text editor program? |

If you're referring to my Lua guide, GUIs will certainly be in there. |

Oh. Probably a program or a website or PDF.
My job has me working on an HTA to manage CISCO switches around the plant, and I've finally used my HTML/CSS/JS/VBS to its fullest potential. :3
So, most likely one of those three media. |

Make a guide that helps people analyze code and, most importantly, a guide that promotes the use of the wiki's object browser.
Also the studio object browser. So many questions here can be solved rather easily by looking at both sites. |

| You know what would be even cooler? If every now and then you held live tutorial event kind of things, where we can ask you questions and you could show us how to do it live. This not only would benefit beginners, but more experienced programmers. |

| Sure, why not. Just curious though, how would you tell us where to locate these guides? Would you just bump this thread everytime you updated your guide? |

| I would like to see guide teaching some of the more advanced methods, including many tips, tricks and shortcuts to make code shorter and more efficient. |
