Steep mountains soar high in the sky, past the clouds and impossible to climb. This range is known as the Remorse Mountains. The region is so cold, your life is sure to fall without proper clothing. The hail that falls through the deadly winter are the size of a childs' palm. Many travellers walked through this range, and didn't die. Instead, they froze and became part of the mountain.
It wouldn't be until a man by the name of Herriom Lariett was forced to travel the mountain to deliver a pack of arrows to an outpost past the mountains. With his heavy coats and horses, he travelled across the range, praying for his horses to live through the harsh winter it was.
He was in luck. A small hole that had a fragile surrounding of stone stared at Herriom, it was a sign. He broke the fragile and weak stone and took his horses, supplies, and himself inside.
The cave was small, but there was an obvious passage. Using a torch he brought just in case, he traveled, with his horses and arrows, across the passage. In a journal, he wrote he could not tell whether it was day or night. The passaged went on forever, and he was hoping there would be no dead ends, for he was starving and did not think it was possible to get back without dying. Luckily, a light popped out, and it was yet another fragile structure. He broke it once again, escaped, and noticed he was about 20 miles far away from the mountains. The hail was now soft snow, and it was heaven to him, and he with his horses and supplies, ran to the outpost to deliver the arrows, while telling everyone about the passage.
To this day, the passage is known as the Passage of light, and many took the passage to travel past the mountains. Even with the passage of light, many still starve to death while taking the long passage. |
