Looping video in HTML5:
<⬛video width="640" height="480" autoplay="autoplay" loop="true"> <⬛source src="videofile.webm" type=video/webm" /> <⬛source src="videofile.mp4" type="video/mp4" /> <⬛source src="videofile.ogg" type="video/ogg" /> Your browser does not support the video tag. <⬛/video>
A 640x480 video looping, and checking if either webm, mp4 or ogg work to display the video
Remove the ⬛s
On the other hand, I'm left-handed. |

@smelly
nope
search "looping html5 video" on google
you just have to link to a video
there must be at least one site that loops videos

| Also, older browsers (some people still use them) don't support HTML5. Space concerns too. A GIF takes up less space. |

I'm almost certain a gif will take up less space than a video file.
And to whoever brought up compatibilty, you could use if statements to make it that browsers that don't support it show a gif instead. |

@opera you can find people supporting every argument ever on google. not that I don't believe you but it's not very helpful.
if that's the case I don't really understand it either. |

If I understand the article, people started using gifs more because flash got too bloated. But with HTML5 this shouldn't be a problem and it should subside.
I guess it's mainly because people are used to gifs now and don't know about this sort of thing. That's no excuse for web developers though. |

try making a gif from a video (or taking a gif and the video that it comes from) and comparing the file sizes

@Opera in tumblr's case I think it's more because of the arbitrary content submission limits they have. |

"GIFs always takes ages to load compared to a video"
i don't see any other way to interpret this
opera, i've noticed a continuous trend in you pretending you know things about electronics/technology. i really don't know what you've been trying to pull off, but you are extremely ignorant. you really need to do some research before posting
