[Roblox Official Tutorial] How to be successful in Roblox. Posted: 01-23-2012 02:45 PM Index I. Introduction II. How to be famous III. How to be rich IV. How to have friends V. Places VI. NBC, BC, TBC, OBC
I. Introduction.
Why me?
You might ask yourself: "Why is this guy telling us what to do?, Does he even know what he is doing?, Why should we listen to him?, Where is your proof?, etc."As you may already know, my username on Roblox is Jatl8. I think I got the sufficient experience to write this article. I joined in 2009, have over 1 Million visits, and I have never bought BC (And never will ).
What is successful?
In the title of this article, "How to be successful on Roblox", I used the term successful, because I think this term describes three things: Money, Fame, and/or Friends. In other words, I am saying, "How to be famous, have money and have friends", so if you think this article is not worth reading or you think that wasting time on pixels is useless (which pretty much is), I suggest you to stop. Otherwise, Welcome aboard! .
Proof.
Here are the people that have become successful with this guide: Halariousbob22: He has over 220,000 visits. Jorgealexis1: Has over 1k visits. (He is not really considered famous) Plus some other people.
II. How to be famous.
What is famous?
My dictionary indicates that famous is: "Well or widely known". Over the years, I've seen that if you want to get famous, you need to do something that marks a point in Roblox. For example, make a well scripted game like TheGamer101 with his Sword Fighting Tournament. Another example is being a stealer (Exploit places and claim them as your own) like JaredValdez4. Unfortunately, Jv4 is famous for stealing places. Another example is by being a Free-Modeler noob, like SONICTHEHEDGEHOGXXX. He is famous for using free models. On the other hand, I don't consider myself famous.
What is famous on Roblox?
Being famous on Roblox implies the following things:
1.- Being stalked everywhere by robloxians. (This is very annoying, because you can't play any game) 2.- Getting tons of mail from robloxians sending you suggestions or ways to fix your place. (You might some people sending you hate mail, want to hang out? mail, etc.) 3.- Having to deal with hackers at your place. 4.- Being moderated all the time. 5.- People trying to send you friend requests because you are famous, not because it's you.
How do I become famous?
You can achieve being famous various ways. Learn Lua (Roblox's scripting language) and make a game (Read on if you want to know how to make a good place). If you try to be like Jv4 or SONICTHEHEDGEHOGXXX, you will waste your time doing this. Why? Only 1 out of 10000 robloxians get to be famous like them. By having a rare name can also mean fame.
III. How to be rich.
What is being rich?
My dictionary says that rich is: "Possessing great material wealth", in this case, we have to replace the word material, to pixels. So this is our new definition: "Possessing great pixel wealth". Being rich means having a great amount of Roblox's currency, which is Robux or Tickets. What I mean with great amount, means over more than 100k tickets and robux together or more. Note: Buying Robux is not considered being rich, because you bought it with real money. If you want to be rich, you have to either earn your tickets by places or by earning profit from buying hats at a low price, then selling them at a high price. An example of one of these people is Warturtle2000 or Rippinz. They have earned their money by making profit. Another less known example is earning money by using the Trade Currency.
How can you make money by using Trade Currency?
For this you will need a calculator. Note: I give credit to the original owner of this tutorial, I would put his name here but I don't know who made it. Before we start we are going to need some knowledge to do this:
Spread: That's the amount between the ticket rate, And the Robux rate. If it is a negative spread, The ticket is worth more than the R$ That does NOT mean that one ticket gets you one Robux. That means that the ticket rate [The rate that says how many tickets are gotten for one Robux] is higher than the Robux rate [The rate that says how many tickets you need to set for one Robux.] Of course, by logic, if the rate is positive, it is the opposite of that.
Rate: Under the "Available Robux" And "Available Tickets" Texts, On the right and left of the TC. You'll see numbers. The top one is the current rate. Lets say it say's "10.0000:1" That means 10 tickets get you one Robux. If it's the Tickets rate the :1 comes after the numbers, Robux rate it comes before.
And remember the 1: or :1 for Tickets, Does NOT go into the calculation!
First. Let's say your going to trade your R$ for tix, And it's 100R$. Then you multiply your R$ with the R$ rate. [THE 1: DOESN'T MATTER! DO NOT INSERT IT IN! IT JUST SAY'S THAT'S THE RATE PER R$]
NOTE: SOME PEOPLE SAY DIVIDE WITH TIX RATE, BUT THAT MAKE YOU EARN LESS MONEY!
And if your trading tix for R$ then you divide your Tix with the tix rate. And again, The 1: Doesn't matter.
And the same, IF you'd divide with the R$ rate here, You'd gain less money.
EXAMPLE:
R$ rate : 10.472
Tix rate : 10.153
You have 1,352 R$.
Multiply 1,352 R$ with 10.472 and you get : 14,158.144
Now, you round up the point. If the first number after the point is 5-9 you take the number and round up, If less, You round down.
So you'd get 14,158 Tix, At this rate.
Then you divide the 14,158 with 10.153 and get : 1394.4646902393381266620703240422
Witch when rounded is "1394"
So then as you can see, You've made profit.
REMEMBER THE RATE IS A PERIOD, NOT MEANING A THOUSAND!
The higher the spread, The more money you make, And it helps to start with much money.
IV. How to have friends.
I think this is the easiest part to understand of the whole article. You guys already know how to have friends. Note: Separate your friends. Your true friends are the ones who became your friend because of you! Not your fame or your famous place. A friend is not the one who stalks you all the time, either.
V. Places (Known as levels also)
Well, we come to the most interesting part of the article (In my opinion).
NBCers
People who are NBCers can only have one active place, which makes it very simple. We don't have to worry about making other places, or making VIP shirts, or getting scammed (Since we cannot sell anything)
About to be BCers
These people have the hardest job. If you are going to get BC, I would suggest you to make your 10 places first and save them to your desktop. When you have BC you are going to have 10 places available and you wouldn't want to waste time doing places, would you? I know I wouldn't. After you are done with your places, you should make VIP T-shirts for all your games, so when a game gets famous people are going to keep coming back. After this, try to make your profile look as professional as possible. A good profile means good presentation, good presentation means more profile views. So what we can conclude about the about to be BCers section is that they shouldn't waste their time when they have BC.
BCers
If you are a BCer you probably need money to buy stuff. In that case you need to start working on your places right away, and fast, because if your BC is ending you will need to take advantage of your selling rights. What is the selling rights? You should take advantage that you can sell, unlike NBCers or About to be BCers.
How to make a good place.
There is no real way of making a place. If you want to have a good place, you need to have everything modeled by yourself and scripted also. Of course, that doesn't mean that you can't use free models. You can use free models but not excessively, unless you want to turn into a SONICTHEHEDGEHOGXXX.
How to make a famous place.
The difference between a good place and a famous place is that, unfortunately, some people spend days making their places, when a noob is just putting free models on his place and gets famous. If you want to have a famous place, you need to have the following things:
1.- Good Front Page image: This is the most important thing when making your place. Have you ever heard the phrase: "Don't judge a book by it's cover"? If so, that is what people do when playing a game. If they see a game with a unattractive Front page, you won't get visits. When putting your Front Page you need to have something attractive that makes you want to play it. Get into other people's shoes and ask yourself this: "If I would be browsing for a game, would I play this?" If not, try to make it better. Remember, the Front Page image decides if your place will be famous or not.
2.- Starting visits: The starting visits are the best ones you can have. If you want your place to reach Front Page, always remember that you have to be at night. Why? People are usually tired from playing other Front page games and always look in the back for a good game. Of course if your place doesn't have an attractive image it will never get visited.
3.- Your behavior when your first visitor comes: This is another important factor. For example: I'm at my place alone at night, and a guest comes, you need to make him feel like it's fun. If your place is about war and you are about to fight the guest, let him kill you. He will feel good and stay more. Remember, never use admin commands on other people or they will leave. Fact: The people who make the games famous are the Guests. Also remember, Guests are other users just trying out the game. No need to hate.
What people expect from your game: 1.- A good non laggy place. 2.- A good multiplayer game. 3.- If he is safechat always try to talk to him. This makes him not leave because he is talking to you. Start off with: "Hello""Friend". If he answers you keep talking to him. If not, just keep playing the game. 4.- They also expect to be good as the Front page says.
When you reach Front Page: If your place reaches Front Page, this is the hardest time you can have, because you will get messages from alot of people. You need to keep updating your game, because robloxians are going to start getting bored and your place will become unpopular. Try to respond to all messages as possible because you will get alot. When you get your tickets don't waste them on useless stuff. Take your time to buy them. Go to a place where you can try out hats or gear and take a look at them. Remember, gear isn't as good as it looks.
VI. NBC, BC, TBC, OBC
Before buying any type of BC, TBC or OBC, think this: "Am I really going to trade my real money for some virtual money that isn't worth anything at all?" If your answer is yes, go ahead and buy it. In my opinion it is a waste of money.
This article was from someone else, i just wanted to point it out, rewrite a few things and help some robloxians :) |
