Wind would be like dynamic lighting, you can turn it off and on and edit it. The wind would push objects that are light depending on the force of the wind(Even players). You can edit the winds speed, direction, and other things.
Also there would be a wind maker(I didn't know what else to call it). . You click on a part and then insert object wind maker. The wind maker could be used to make fans. Also it would allow another way of making boats for roblox water, you just put a sail on it and it would go with the wind.
What could be done with wind

Ima support this just to stop hearing the idiots say scriptable. Everything is scriptable.
did you know that people had created terrain generators before roblox came out with theirs? True The peoples terrain generators, however, were bricks, instead of non laggy voxels, and required knowledge of shape formulas to generate half good terrain. So when you say "It's scriptable" Yes it is So was the terrain generator of the users. But when roblox decided to give a go at it and implement a terrain generator it into their GAME ENGINE, it surpassed the others. Roblox has special powers and can alter the core of the game itself to work better. We can't Scriptable is just another way of saying, "Let's just wait for someone to do this nearly impossible feat rather than support it in the SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS FORUM. |

I could make wind, I have done over 2k Lines of code in a year, as in it is actually easy Mass could do and c-framing could help with some unanchoring
Basically:
while true do wait(1) script.Parent.Position = (0,0,0) wait(1) script.Parent.Position.X = X +1 wait(2) script.Parent.Position.Z = Z +2 wait(3) script.Parent.Position.Y = Y +3 wait(1) script.Parent.Position = (0,0,0) end _______________________________ Basically would move it there and back. Wow, you all make me sick. When I say something is scriptable I say that because you can easily replicate the suggestion via script. Of course you can simulate wind, but the skids example wouldn't even work like real simulated wind, it isn't efficient, nor is it compatible with wind related properties.
The game engine would need to be changed to create realistic wind.

Support. Would be very complicated/long to put it in though. Have to change the weight/mass of an object, then have the wind push it for a little bit. What if it pushes something off the map? That'd be bad.
It'd look nice with some fall trees, and dynamic lightning. With the wind pushing the leaves a little

Guys. Listen here. Well actually read cause this is text. Oh well.
When you say SCRIPTABLE, you mean that the suggestion can and WAS scripted. I have never seen a game with wind. So even if it were somehow scriptable, implementing it in the engine would make it more realistic and easier to make, because as of now it's not really possible. Let's compare it to something else, like set your game to force the players to be in first person mode. That is not only scriptable, but also USED in certain games. That's the difference and use that to aid you when you say "scriptable" to anything again.

@sergiu It is indeed possible to create wind. I was recently experimenting with it and made little progress though.

And I'm not even a scripter, tried once but lost motivation. I barely know how to do some REALLY small things, but it's common sense knowing what is easy to script.
