The city-state of Cygnia is a massive city floating above the ocean. It is a proud and beautiful city, famous throughout the world, and is home to 15 million people.

This city is your homeland. You are now returning to it after many years living on the earth. You are returning via a relatively small flying steamship. The city is drifting over the vast ocean, and the flying steamship has been in the air for five days. You can now see a faint speck in the distance over the ocean which is the city. It is only another day before you can see your cherished motherland again.
However, what you do not know, what nobody outside really knows, is that a catastrophe has taken place here, a catastrophe the likes of which are thought impossible.

RULES:
-Be realistic. You can only use powers/equipment that you have access to.
-Whatever I say goes. This is to ensure that people can't exploit loopholes in the rules and to keep everything fun.
-Keep in character. This is very important.
-Don't do things to kill the plot/the RP.
-Use common sense, people. I don't feel like writing 5 pages of rules.
-Oh, and have fun!

You have 50 points to spend on your character's starting powers/equipment.

There are several powers that you may choose from:

Possession- 25 points. Allows you to possess any animal or human. However, either possessing another being or reversing this process leaves you exhausted for a a period of about one hour.

Vortex- 15 points. allows you to create a temporary swirling vortex. Can be used for anything it could realistically be used for, such as a weapon or to life large solid objects by creating an upwards vortex of air around them. You can control the size of the vortex, however, the larger it is and the longer it lasts, the more energy it will drain from you.

Agility- 15 points. Makes you more agile than a regular human: you are faster, you turn more quickly, can jump higher, fall further and swim faster.

Insect swarm- 20 points. Allows you to summon a swarm of insects that obey your commands. The swarm can attack humans or animals, can devour vegetation and crawl into machinery and take control of it to make it serve your purpose. You can also see through the eyes of any member of the swarm. You may choose what the insects look like if you choose this power. (Examples could include fireflies, dragonflies, or you can make up your own!)

Custom power- ??? points. You can make up a custom power, and I will tell you how much it will cost. Feel free to be creative! With powers, there's a very low chance I'll turn anything down. (I mean... it's magic... seriously.)


There are also several piece of equipment you may choose to bring with you. Basic things such as backpacks are free. Equipment can be acquired in the roleplay too if you find it, steal it, etc, but this is a list of all the equipment you can start with:

EQUIPMENT:

Syringe- 2 points. A simple syringe, comes with a set of needles so you can change them after use.

Sleep potion- 4 points. Can be used in the syringe, or put in food, or anything else like that. Sends a person to sleep slowly for about three hours. Effects begin about 10 minutes after consumption. At first, a person feels slightly tired, this increases exponentially as time passes. Then, a person begins to feel very sleepy, and after about 30 minutes, they fall asleep. They cannot then be woken up while the potion is active (the potion is active for about four hours after this). An antidote stops the effects of this potion within three minutes. One use.

Sleep potion antidote- 4 points. One use.

Knockout potion - 4 points. Like the sleep potion, but works immediately (within a minute). Sends a person to sleep for 30 minutes. One use.

Knockout potion antidote - 4 points. Effective within five minutes. One use.

Dragon potion- 8 points. Allows an individual to breathe fire after being consumed. One use.

Map- 5 points. A map of the city. Useful for obvious reasons.

Compass- 5 points. Always points to magnetic north. Also useful for obvious reasons.

Lamp- 5 points. A kerosene lantern. Emits light. Requires fuel.

Kerosene- 3 points. Fuel for the kerosene lamp.

Night vision monocle- 10 points. An eyepiece which allows the wearer to see slightly better at night.

Mechanical wings- 20 points. Artificial wings built into your body that enable you to fly. If you choose this, please describe what yours look like.

Gas mask- 10 points. Enables you to breathe in an otherwise non-breathable atmosphere.

Custom piece of equipment- ??? points. This is only a very basic list. If you would like a piece of custom piece of equipment, describe it and I'll tell you how much it costs and what it requires (if it requires anything else, I'll tell you how much this will cost also). Feel free to go into as much detail as you like.


WEAPONRY:

Pistol/revolver- 10 points. A simple small firearm. Poor accuracy over long distance.

Pistol/revolver ammunition- 1 piece of ammunition for 1 point.

Solid shot pistol- 15 points. A revolver-like firearm which fires a heavier explosive bullet.

Solid shot ammunition- 1 piece of ammunition for 1 points.

Rifle- 15 points. A more powerful rifle. Has better accuracy over long range.

Rifle ammunition- 1 piece of ammunition for 1 point.

Shotgun- 15 points. Powerful gun that disperses many bullets. Only short-range.

Shotgun ammunition- 1 cartridge for 1 point.

Custom firearm- ??? points. This is only a very basic list. If you would like a custom firearm, please describe it, and I will tell you how many points it and its ammunition will cost. You can be as creative as you like, although I may deny weapons. Feel free to go into as much detail as you like.

Occupation: Comes from the empire of Germania, where he is a military strategist.

(Well, I guess we'll just start now.)

The steamship sails calmly through the air and the clouds, and the only thing disturbing the calm is the sound of its engine. You can see the city fairly well through a pair of binoculars. The only thing that strikes you is that none of the long, towering chimneys in the factory district are belching out smoke. The ship is completely automated, and one of you goes down to check up on the equipment. Upon arrival, you can see that the radio apparatus has been belching out a steady stream of ticker tape ever since you arrived in Cygnian airspace. It just says this, over and over, hundreds of times:

"CONNECTING TO CYGNIA AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL
SEARCHING
ERROR: NO FREQUENCY FOUND"
