I think, as a community, we should try something new. Things have been consistently boring around here in comparison to that in which it used to be. In this thread, lets suggest different things we can do to change this. Even simple things we can do to make this community a fun, interesting place.
My idea: Every week, we host a thread in which we will answer any and all questions. This will make the community respect scripters and also get them closer to becoming a contributor in the field of scripting. It will help form the community of the future. |

It'd be a bit easier if we just posted threads on material we don't know. Swallow that stubborn pride and get things out. Not for the sake of knowing, but just to stimulate interesting discussion.
Like, many people don't understand all the behind-mechanics of a matrix, or the cool ways you can use math in ROBLOX.
Organized events like your idea are nice and clear, but may not follow through. |

That is actually an idea in itself. I agree. It would mature the scripters we CURRENTLY have. |

Yeah, most of us (no matter how much I'd like to say them) just like to hang around until they find a place we (they) can throw their opinions into a place where nobody really cares. For example, discussion threads usually get nowhere and not many people actually read everyone's replies.
It makes us (them) all look a bit wasted (as in, such knowledge is going to no use). |

Exactly. This sub-forum seems nearly completely useless. We just throw random opinions in. We don't help people. We just show off what we believe is intelligent so our status can be improved on within this society. A society in which we do nothing as a whole... It is kind of sad.
Other suggestions guys? This thread needs more topics. |

| I'm going to start posting a lot of concepts/things I'm working on, and see how that goes. Explanations and technical questions is what should drive this forum, and it'd really be nice to know how/what other people are doing, and get feedback on my project(s). |

It's been boring and will continue to be boring due to the lack of new and interesting users lacking the ability to code or script or anything of the sort. It's always been like this, as I remember trying to find new or interesting posts to take part in, and having to wait from 5 minutes to hours to find someone to pick up the courage and make an interesting post that even Sorcus will be interested in.
TLDR: This subforum will continue to be boring due to the lack of scripters. |

@Quenty.
That is a great idea actually. I think I am going to do the same
@Parthax...
I disagree... There are a large quantity of us... just some things interest us. If we actually try, it can become interesting... That is the point of this thread. Ideas, Ideas, Ideas. |

I can fix this.
I suggest we put the weight of responsibility onto the people here.
I have not declared myself Prime Jester for nothing.
I was planning to find a way to organize a sort of government, perhaps to create a conflict in this forum that was more orderly instead of the chaos we have now.
The motive of the government? To be decided as we form it, and even thereafter.
As Prime Jester, I will take up the responsibility of consulting the Crown.
If we want to form a government, we must plan.
I motion that we discuss the forming of a government within this forum. Those for the discussion of this motion may express so, and those opposed may as well. Abstention is acceptable as well.
The Prime Jester of Scripters has spoken. |

"This subforum will continue to be boring due to the lack of scripters." We can think there's a "lack of scripters" because discussions there usually aren't that interesting.
We can start a "big" script project involving all the scripters who want, like a global library. Even if they're lots of existing libraries, more or less complete, we can imagine new kind of function. Also, a library's just an idea. Being a part of a team of people is a good way to progress and know each others.
Making more scripting challenge like ColorfulBody's ones would be good as well. |

I suppose I'll fix my proposal: This subforum will continue to be boring due to the lack of interesting scripters that would want to post in the Scripters subforum. |

| I'd love for there to be a tech demo place featuring one specific object in the game. A good understanding in body gyro can help a robloxian achieve soooo much more than they thought possible at a basic level. |

We could remove the hostile attitude towards incorrect posts and kindly direct them to the correct place to post there.

| I have been posting less because of the amount of trash post I see, it's hard to find a thread that picks my attention. As elitist it may sound, I would like that people gained the right to post here, that would reduce useless threads a lot and people that wanted to post for help here would say "Oh, I can't post here, let's go to scripting helpers". Yeah... |

^The problem is finding a method that well, works.
Also here's another idea, we say all of our numbers. Because when people graze a post, their eyes look at the numbers because they are the least used characters. So instead of writing '10', we write 'ten'. Then it would get on some people's nerves. A little meta-trolling if you wil. |

| A big problem with posting threads is that not a lot of them get a lot of replies unless somebody starts a war. I've tried starting threads with very interesting topics before and they never really happened. I think a lot of us are scared of posting a lot of threads because of all the flaming non-regulars get. |

:(... This is a bad thing. Those who are even accepted here in the scripters forum are scared to post... Which is beyond ridiculous. You guys need to feel free to post, as long as it is related to the topic. If you are wrong, or we have a different opinion, we SHOULD simply correct you or share an opposing opinion. Flaming and insults is what is going to stop this community from being an actual community. This group of individuals seems to be controlled under those with enough knowledge to seem to be above others. Everyone should contribute... I am sorry our community is this way; let's try to change it. I have and will defend you guys against any person who insults you or shows disrespect, stand your ground the same. |

All my posts attempting to stimulate discussion always bring up an idea and then get a couple replies that could be summed up entirely with "that's neat."
The regulars here are a bit... harsh to a lot of people. |

Well, it isn't a common occurrence but it does happen, and typically by the same few users over and over again.
I'll refrain from posting the usernames of those who do insult others, as it would probably lead to conflict. Instead, I'd like for you, the reader, to assume that you're someone who insults those who are erroneous here. Ask yourself the following questions:
- Was it really necessary for me to humiliate this user because he hadn't known the correct terminology?
- Why must I insult those who are ignorant of a certain aspect of this programming language?
- Must I insult this member for digressing when I did the same just an hour ago?
Surely you do not need to insult someone to convey a point.
If these users were to realize and correct their mistakes, then I am sure much more users would partake in the discussions here. Besides, do we all not want a more knowledgeable community? |
