So, I have an idea for a voting system for future updates. The updates are ones planned by the Roblox Team. The ideal system is in Steps. It would be on another Roblox website or the news.
Step 1: The next 5 planned updates are listed. Example: Dynamic Lighting Ropes Universes Expanded/Removed terrain limit Outfits
Step 2: Votes, 1 per IP, can be made for each update, in a form of yes/no. The voting lasts for a week. Each update has a description as well. Example: Dynamic Lighting: More detailed shadows. Lights can be inserted into bricks. Lights have color, range, and brightness levels. The more detailed shadows are toggled in Lighting, being off by default. Do you want this to be added to Roblox? .Yes .No
Step 3: Votes are counted. Updates with a majority of yes have Step 9 applied. Updates with a minority of yes, or around a tie, move to Step 4.
Step 4: A survey is given, once again 1 answer per IP, for what change should be made. The survey is given for once again 1 week. Example: (Let’s say that somehow Dynamic Lighting wasn’t favored by the community.) Dynamic Lighting: More detailed shadows. Lights can be inserted into bricks. Lights have color, range, and brightness levels. The more detailed shadows are toggled in Lighting, being off by default. What change should be made? Suggestion: “Make the shadow darkness darker.”
Step 5: Survey answers are counted and grouped. In other words, if many, many people suggest a similar thing, it’s at least considered.
Step 6: Mostly a repeat of Step 1. If any updates from the last Voting have Step 9 applied, they are replaced by new ones. Notice how new and old updates are in order. Example: (Let’s say that changes were suggested for terrain limit expansion/removal too.) Dynamic Lighting Expanded/Removed terrain limit Return of badge award notices Forum Revamp More brick shapes: Curved
Step 7: Mostly a repeat of Step 2. : Votes, 1 per IP, can be made for each update, in a form of yes/no. The voting lasts for a week. Each update has a description, and changed updates have new descriptions.
Example: (Say the example suggestion in Step 4 was suggested A LOT.) Dynamic Lighting: More detailed shadows. Lights can be inserted into bricks. Lights have color, range, and brightness levels. Lighting has 2 new properties: More detailed shadows can be toggled, with off being default. If shadows are turned on, their darkness can be adjusted on a scale of 0 to 10, with 5 being default. Do you want this to be added to Roblox? .Yes .No
Step 8: Votes are counted. A. For newer updates, Step 3 is applied. B. Changed updates with a majority of yes votes have Step 9 applied. Changed updates that are tied or nearly tied have Step 4 applied again. Changed updates with a minority of yes votes are either postponed for surveying some day in the future, or discarded completely.
Step 9: The update is confirmed. It will be worked on soon.
So, what do you think? Does this sound like a good idea? .Yes .No
If not, what in this idea should I change? |

| I like this voting idea. Since the audience can choose what they want, they can enjoy their experience much better. |

Why bother replying if you don't care to read? Yes, this is advanced. I could make a decal of a diagram, showing how each suggestion goes through the steps. |

| This would really lower the "I hate this update! Give us the old Roblox!" demands. |

| Perhaps I need to make the suggestion easier to understand... |

| It's just awful to see so many people upset about updates. This would be asking them what's good, so they can list the bad things about the updates BEFORE they are added. |

| I spend like 30 minutes thinking of this, and yet people reply to threads that took a few minutes to think of. I can't believe this. |
