which fits atheism?
because if its number 1, lack of belief in a god, then it can also be called a belief in no god
if its number 2, belief in no god, then atheists have faith in their beliefs because it has not been proven yet they continue to believe in it |

@netcurtle
I know never said I was a Christian
I -am- a Christian, but agnostics don't believe in no god either, just that there is no proof for either atheism or theism
an agnostic could have posted my exact words |

I'm agnostic. I'm just going to wait and see what happens when I die, because you can't tell what happens when you're dead.
I was never really on your side. |

burden of proof is on the one who believes something "there is no proof against it" is not an argument for a god |

They've never been dis-proved, either. I'm agnostic, and its ignorant to think that we know anything. This universe is far too complicated, and far too amazing for ignorant humans like us to ever comprehend, which is why your 'fairy tale' gods can be perfectly true. |

Atheism is the disbelief in God or gods.
Religion is obviously a very sensitive topic, and I will not add my personal takes on it in this post.
Basically, it's a personal thing. There are billions of people across the world who have their own faiths and inside them they all have their different levels in that faith. Some people inside a faith may question their faith. However, it is important to study a faith before taking an opinion on it. I have learned through taking some classes on the Christian faith that there are MANY misconceptions that a less-educated person would say about Christianity. Overall, I just think it is very important that people actually take time to learn about a faith and it's purpose & values before generalizing it. |

| xc, we thrive on theories. Most likely true, but not guaranteed. And I doubt we'll ever know everything there is, but that's why I love science, limitless boundaries. |

"because if its number 1, lack of belief in a god, then it can also be called a belief in no god"
No, actually, they're not the same thing, as you go on to state yourself in regards to agnosticism. Your argument requires a single statement to be both true and false.
"if its number 2, belief in no god, then atheists have faith in their beliefs because it has not been proven yet they continue to believe in it" "an agnostic could have posted my exact words"
So I suppose you'd be agnostic about the invisible elves living under your bed that come out at night when you're sleeping to steal your earwax, as well?
Look, the idea of any god as described in any scripture, is so far beyond reasonable belief that I can as surely say that there is no such god as I can say that there is no spontaneously existent teapot orbiting the sun between Earth and Mars.
But hey, as Superme points out, "The world may never know!"
P.S. Please tell me if you ever find a teapot in solar orbit. |

"it is important to study a faith before taking an opinion on it."
That invalidates the point of faith (in the religious sense) -- why would you examine your reasons to believe something unreasonably before believing it, after all?
"They've never been dis-proved, either. I'm agnostic, and its ignorant to think that we know anything."
Exactly, man! So please, if you can't prove to me beyond any shadow of a doubt that the entity behind your account isn't actually a monkey with a typewriter, then I shall assume that it is so. |

| We've been arguing all this time from what we believe and from what we know and now we decided there is a probability he can exist? Not much for progress. |
