Intro:
Ok so we've all seen those accounts that are gold mines in the making, sitting there full of old rare hats with their prices ripening with each passing day all the while mocking us with an amazing namesnipe. We've all at one point or another wanted these accounts and for obvious reasons you're not going to try to illegally obtain it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Proposal:
My proposal is that a system be setup that collects the accounts together that have been inactive for more than 3 or so years and strips the account of it's items while putting the username itself up for auction, the seller being ROBLOX.
Now, I don't know how this would all be priced at, different names might want to be started off at a certain price and of course there'd be a problem with what to price the items at (Perhaps simply throw them up for the current RAP price?), but that could be sorted out easily enough with a bit of thinking.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Benefits:
The benefits here are obvious the most prominent being that amazing, classic hats and awesome namesnipes would be moved back into circulation for newer users to enjoy while also solving one major problems arising being that these sold off accounts that are being bidded on could severely reduce the inflation that is manifesting in ROBLOX at an alarming rate.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cons:
Unfortunately there are cons that come with this as well, mainly being older active users ( And current users who's profits would be at stake) would have their potential profit ruined with the classic hats flooding the market. I haven't come up with anyway to counter this problem, but in my opinion the pros would outweigh the cons in this situation.

My concern with this, and with all ideas about getting rid of old accounts is with the actual games on those accounts. Users still play old user's games, and if we're putting their account up for auction, we're going to loose that content. MikeD and Are92 come to mind.

Yea Miked was the one person that came to my mind when I was making this thread and I'm not sure what could be done with their places...

Only thought on this matter I can come up with is to store them on another account....

No support. What if someone logged on one day after not coming on for a while to find out there account had gone? What if it was a younger child?

Wait let me revise that. There are a few good points to this, like 06'ers accounts that haven't logged on since the day they were made would be free. Maybe the admins could select them instead of accounts like MikeD being put up?

Obviously namesnipe alts would need to be sold off, maybe just forget the accounts that were obviously played on.

Happier becuase people aren't jealous, It's their problem. It's unfair for accounts to be deleted just because of jealous people.

Accounts that are most likely never going to be touched again.... yea. Let's just keep the entire community that is currently keeping ROBLOX afloat with their money (Unlike all the inactive namesnipe alts that are sitting there doing nothing) unhappy.

Roblox already promised no deletion of inactive accounts as well. This would lead to as many unhappy people as there would be before the update.

You mean just like that promise where data would be saved when you lost your BC?
Promises don't matter. They can change whatever they want.
I also don't see how alts that haven't been touched in 3 4 or 5 years could be unhappy when they get deleted.

Being a member from 2007, I've moved on to many new things and don't often log on to Roblox these days. When I do, however, I'd hate to see someone that just joined this year has bought my account for a fixed price. There's also a sentimental value there that I feel just wouldn't be respected, though this may seem irrelevant to some.

If you're only logging on every 4 years you wouldn't need to keep some account with an amazing namesnipe ladened with hats anyway.

Some people could get into situations where they couldn't get on Roblox for a long trime, like college(depends on type) or issues with finances.

Well, Robocat, there are a lot of circumstantial factors here. What if, say, a disaster victim was unable to access his or her account for a long, long time. They would come back to see their account, but it would no longer be theirs, or just gone entirely. Just an example, even if it is highly improbable.
