I've seen a few people say that it is at birth.
I like to think a human is pretty much born as a blank canvas when it comes to orientation and other subjects. |

I'm not sure if its inherited at birth. You really don't know much at birth. |

neither.
several factors, namely horomone balances, birth order, and genetics, are causes. it is not a mental disorder, nor is it a learned trait (although studies suggest that just about anybody can have feelings for the same gender to various degrees), and it certainly isnt a choice.

Oh lord must I copy this again
It can happen for a variety of reasons. -By choice -Heredity -Prenatal influence -Environmental factors
Ultra-conservatives claim that being gray has no basis in genetics and is therefore a choice. Gray theologians argue that it is genetic and is therefore morally correct.
I disagree with this basic reasoning.
It is not strictly caused by genetics and it is not strictly a choice. The reasons behind it are different for every person.
The bottom line is that it isn't a defect, it isn't a sin, and it's perfectly normal. Who's to say who we can and cannot like? It isn't hurting anyone and it's just the same as straight couples, except the parts are the same.
Now shut up. |

Actually not even scientists have come to a cold hard consensus
So to say it is one and not the other is kind of hasty |

ignorance plus fear equals hatred. fear is primal, so ignorance is the source of all problems.

| Well, you can be born that way, but it can also be caused by certain events (Girls have been known to go GrAY after breaking up with a very close boyfriend or being victims of gRAPEs), or people who were raised to be GrAY, or people whose parents never let them talk to the opposite gender. |
