1. Get a TI-83/84 graphing calculator. 2. Click the "Y=" button. 3. For the first function (Y1=), type in the left side of the equation. 4. For the second function (Y2=), type in the right side of the equation. 5. Click the "graph" button. 6. Wherever the lines cross is what X equals (if it crosses in multiple points, then that means there are multiple possibilities for X). 7. If your equation should produce more results than it shows on the graph, that means that the remainder are imaginary solutions.
