So many games I've played give a new user little to no chance of surviving against players who have much better weapons.
Each should have you do something good, for the cost of something.
For example, in TF2, the Family Business is a shotgun that has a 33% bigger clip size, but does 15% less damage.
Just my thoughts because it's basically impossible to win against a darkheart, illumina, and especially that ice dagger because they have no downsides so there's no point in the default sword anymore.
Here's an example of what I mean for nerfing an item: Darkheart: Steal the health of any enemy you kill Reduces the users max health from 100 to 85

| I haven't seen many good games with weapon cons except for ones that are TF2 clones |

Ah, ok.
When I had nothing better to do, I decided to balance all the sfoth weapons.
Illumina: +30% damage bonus -20% slower swing speed
Dark heart: Steal health of enemy on kill -20 max health when picked up
Firebrand Catches people on fire Cannot be frozen Fire is extinguished by health packs, force fields, and ice daggers -15% slower move speed
Ice dagger: Freezes once fully charged When lit on fire: 2 second fire invulnerability Extinguishes fire if equipped Melts in fire -50% shorter range
Windforce: Push back on hit -25% damage penalty
Venom shank: Poison on hit Longer range +50% fire vulnerability while out
Teleport stone: 2 seconds of standing still before you can teleport
Shadow sphere: 1 second before becoming invisible Illumina reveals cloaked enemies |

I mean, look at Base Wars. BWSR-1 Flame: Most OP gun on roblox. Shield Armor: Too much
No way to balance it perfectly. |

You could balance the fire like this:
2 damage every second
4 damage every second with the venomshank out |

Either give them some nerfs, or make them EXTREMELY situational.
For example, the Scottish Resistance in TF2:
6/7 pros
1 con: .8 second longer bomb detonation time thing.
You'd have to build your defences beforehand, whereas with the default sticky launcher, I've been killled by demos retreating and shooting stickies at their feet and detonating them when I walk over. |
