A while ago I was discussing with some of you about making an anti-exploit system from Marketplace service. Obviously nothing will be perfect but with the aim of making it as tricky as possible for an exploiter to change a game.
I've just read this thread by asimo http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=95964228 and it seems like it could be a great place to start, putting all the money straight into the group funds then mass advertise with it.
The team would be a bit like EBR except projects will include making anti-exploits, games and so on. So rather than just building it's a massive mix for the most talented who want to give something back.
I want it to be scripting based so I wanted to work with many of you on the idea.
It's sort of off-topic but not at the same time, so to keep it on topic. Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It would be great working with some of you.
(I was also thinking of things like Chrome extensions at some point) |

1) Sounds like a scam 2) If we truely cared, it'd be done by now 3) ROBLOX has infinitely more power to do anything they want. They can scan each memory location, do a VAC style anti-hack, scan each file, decide not to run ROBLOX based upon memory signatured of other programs.
To make this simple, scripters running in a protected environment that has been imposed upon us will have little chance of preventing someone from hacking who can modify memory locations, run any program, and access higher level scripting areas than we can.
Also, may I point out that this is ROBLOX, and that most of the hackers here *are* skiddies - compared to an actual popular game (for older kids/adults), ROBLOX will have fairly small hacks.
So overall, I'm not sure how a chrome extension in any way efficient combats exploiting, and the only application I see of Marketplace service is creating a global ban list (Which ROBLOX, mind you, can easily do).

I'd help, but it's practically patched.
Now if you excuse me, I must go troll children.

@Quenty.
The Chrome extension was irrelevant. The group was not about creating an anti-exploit system. That would be a group project that could be globally used. This includes a list of players to ban. I was more going off a team of developers that would make useful tools for place owners.
I don't understand where you got scam from. I maybe miss-worded something because I do not understand otherwise.
Regardless. The base idea was just to create a nice little private community for more mature players to work alongside eachother if they want to or just discuss topics of interest. I am sorry you misunderstood me.
As for Hackers, I did mention that this was just an idea to stop or slow them down (or I meant to, although somewhere between my head and what I type information is often lost) It's just to patch what we as players are able to and keep it up to date.

Ah. That's where I misunderstood you. You said this:
> A while ago I was discussing with some of you about making an anti-exploit > system from Marketplace service.
And I was like.. I'm not sure how you can do that with a marketplace service, but you sure as **** can buy stuff with it.
And then you said this:
> putting all the money straight into the group funds then mass advertise with it
Which makes it sound like somehow you would be getting money, which kind of links back to the money issue.

That does sound like a good idea. I've already worked to create such a thing in Firelight studios, but your group may garner more support

I don't think much that we can do will affect hackers - it's really up to ROBLOX's developers.

Sorry for the confusion. Honestly, I've seen fireflight studios and thought it was a set of game developers and nothing more so never really checked it out. But I will now.

@Quenty I joined Firelight but haven't really seen any projects I find interest in, so I haven't really gotten involved. I do think woot3 will find some interest in it, however.

well, the idea of a group of scripters is sounding quite nice
- master scripters is pretty much inactive
