I have recently found out that in Roblox Studio, the default cframe tools can be changed to be more precise by removing the grid(the magnet icons). Now, why can't people just use this instead of downloading plugins that don't undo properly? I think this is much more better than any plugin out there on the market..
Is there anything I'm missing out by throwing away my plugins? |

CmdUtl 5.0.0 can CFrame relative to a part's chosen edge, anywhere on it. Try to beat that with the regular tools. CmdUtl 3 has a circle maker plugin.
Those are just 2 examples. |

The only single building plugin you should ever install that isn't integrated in the studio (normal build tools) or shipped in the studio (terrain tools) is CmdUtl 5.0.0. Installing any other building plugin (including older versions of CmdUtl) is completely useless.
Even CmdUtl isn't that useful, unless you're really building large creations.
Plugins are cool, but installing 8 different building plugins won't make you a better builder. The building tools integrated in the studio are better than every single plugin that was published, and CmdUtl can do very well the few things they cannot do. |

| I been using cmdutl 3.5 for the longest time, until the shortcuts broke, so i moved on to 5.0 finally... are there any shortcut keys for it, they made life 100x easier, i can't live without them. Or am i going to have to hack away at the script and do it myself? Only key related functions i could find have something to do with the scope of models :\ |

| CmdUtility is amazing, and I modified it enough to allow shortcut keys, so my building is really efficient. ROBLOX's tools still just don't compete.... :/ |

"ROBLOX's tools still just don't compete.... :/"
They do. The grid can actually be useful, and there isn't a single other tool that has a grid. They're also the only tools with which the undo works correctly. |

The studio's integrated building tools are indeed better than all the plugins out there; it's just that ROBLOX builders are stubborn and automatically think that everything ROBLOX does is bad and terrible just because it was done by ROBLOX, hence why they hate ROBLOX's building tools, terrain and everything else ROBLOX does.
You are not missing anything, it really just is that people are stubborn and don't want to admit that ROBLOX has indeed created the best building tools as of now. |

| Studio's tools have improved, though I'd like it if, instead of 1/5 increment, the button would be for 1/4... |

| oh I see this was dug up, I've got cmdutl 3.0 nearly 100% functional online now, with ctrl+c/v and delete key shortcuts along with shift click. The only things it lacks now is the ability to drag parts like in studio (getting to it) and properly updating selected parts... which isn't a huge deal when using the building shortcuts(r,f,v ect.). |

| CmdUtl has always been better than the Studio tools. The only thing that makes studio better than CmdUtl is the fact that it is able to run CmdUtl. |

@1waffle1
I disagree. CmdUtl is the best building plugin as of now and it will probably remain for a while, but the studio's grid is quite handy, and the studio's building tools actually handle the undo and redo features properly, which is really useful. |

| true, there's just some things studio tools can do, such as rotating the individual axis of multiple parts, moving on the parts axis, snaping edges together and that magic select edge too, resizing multiple parts at once, setting the increments of everything, and stuffs. c: |

Oh man. Studio tools SUCK. Sorry, Roblox, but I'm just not going to use them. I'll keep using my modified CmdUtl 3.0.
If CmdUtl 5 was better looking and had shortcuts, I'd use it. |

CFraming plugins often have extra features other than just moving things on the axes and rotating them about their centers. For example, Wingman8's CFrame plugin allows you to fill in triangular gaps with WedgeParts and rotate parts around their edges. It also has a helpful GUI and a mechanism for changing the increment of adjustment.
But for basic tasks like moving parts around inside each other, no, a plugin isn't needed anymore.
And if worst comes to worst it's not like you can't just use the command line.
char* Signature = NULL; // Too Bad DealWith(&it); |
