I haven't got them yet, but I will be reading "Constantine" Issue 1 and 2 along with "The Last of Us: American Dreams" Issue 1.
I also want to pick up the TPB edition of "Silent Hill: Past Life". |

| Mario, how is The Lovecraft Anthology? I'm a huge Lovecraft enthusiast, and saw it on sell at a local bookstore, but found a cheaper copy of it online. Worth picking up? |

I'll check it out, then.
I recently finished reading "Kick-Ass". I hope to pick up it's sequel, and spin-off "Hit-Girl" in anticipation of Kick-Ass 2 movie. Great books, and film.
Tell me this scene isn't awesome:

So, all three floppies came.
"The Last of Us: American Dreams" #1 was decent- it didn't show too much development, and was more of an introduction to the characters- Ellie, and Riley. It quickly establishes that the safe zone's military are to some degree corrupt, and that a rebellious organization known as The Fireflies are being labeled as terrorists. All ready you know the themes that will be explored in the upcoming video game. I can't wait for the following issues, and the game itself.
"Constantine" #1 and #2 are ... perfect. I was worried that John would be toned down to appeal to DC's masses, but he's still the lovable rogue I know, from Vertigos' Hellblazer. Granted, he doesn't swear, but actions speak louder than words. The story is a little on the weak side, but the comics' first arc is more like the writers are trying to prove that John still has it, and can co-exist, with DC's larger universe. The monologues are fantastic, and provides more depth to the sorcerer.
Oh, and the first issue ends, with John's friend dying painfully. So, essentially it is classic Constantine.
Can't recommend it enough. |

"I was going to ask about that when you read it. I want to get into Hellblazer but I don't want to start with the original because it's 300 issues and I'd rather start that when I've read the first volume of Constantine which will probable be around 7 issues."
I say start, with Hellblazer. There's no connection between the two anyway other than the main character.
Warning though: Hellblazer is quite mature- there are ... scenes, swearing, and the list goes on.
The first volume is quite cheap on Ebay, and the volumes I have are quite big, so well worth the price. So, pick it up, and try it out- if the art's not for you, then check out Constantine when it releases its first volume.
Oh, and recently Vertigo started releasing the series in chronological order (the Hellblazer chronology is a mess) so pick up the new version of Volume 1 to read the entirety of the issues from start to finish.
