There's a house at the end of the street, a crumbling, dilapidated building. It's the one house that bridges the gap between the suburbs, and the slums, and is considered haunted by both classes. They say anyone who goes into this building, disappears, many of the kids think by ghosts. Others think by witches. Few know the real truth, by scientists.
Although it may seem like lots of people are disappearing, most people notice the suspicious lights and such in the area. A lot of the time, there is green smoke that comes out of the yard, red lights blast through the windows, and shadows can be seen everywhere there. Many of the kids first believe in them, but as they grow older, find that it's mostly teenagers pulling tricks on them.
Little do they know, that the more they spend around this house, in and around. The more the people below take an interest in them. Recording many things about each of their personalities, and physical traits. If they find someone they deem worth their purpose, they lure them into the house, and take them. Use them to fuel their crazy pursuit for scientific progress.
The kids they take tend to be in the age range of 7 to 9, before they begin growing past what the scientists could edit. The kids usually are also quiet, they sometimes they grab older ones to act as leaders for the groups of kids. A final thing about these kids are that they are usually from poor familys', are orphans, or can be heard complaining about their family from the many voice interceptors around the house.
Once these kids are taken underground, the scientists perform many tests on them. Trying to figure out their strengths, weaknesses, and many other things about them. When they have finished these tests, they take the child to a special room, where they will live for the next few years, where they would be changed forever.
The scientists would put these kids in pods for the first year, and they would be hooked up to many different machines. Some for food, some for water, some for life support, and a final one for the scientists use. These machines are used to mess with the DNA of the subject, often transferring it with that of animals. It sometimes can take from 1 to 3 years for the scientists to discover a combination that they are satisfied, they continue the process.
When the scientists are fully satisfied with what they have created, they release them into a special place, which they call the ecocave. The ecocave is a large man-made structure, which has many different biomes in different areas around the cave, almost like a map. The floor most are firstly thrown onto is a very flat plain, with many different biomes on the different sides of them.
To the east is a snowy area, where the kids mutated with arctic animals go to. The land is a wide open tundra, with a small, mostly dead forest near the corners, where it is also slightly warmer. There is one mountain near the easternmost part of the biome. The main creatures are arctic foxes, wolves, arctic rabbits, lynxes, cougars, and a few more. The foxes and wolves usually live in small dens with their packs, often packed together to conserve heat. The rabbits usually live in large-ish burrows, often made close together to conserve heat. The big cats often just stay in the dead forested area, and near the mountain, sometimes straying out of these areas for food and water.
To the west is a dense forest, where the kids mutated with woodland creatures often go to, mainly the deer-like, rabbit-like, and the ones like the song birds. The trees are very closely packed, and are often 10 to 15 feet tall. The deer-like mutants live on the ground near streams, and often in small caves. The rabbit-like often live in large burrows, as they are usually small, but larger then an average rabbit. The song bird mutants often live in the tall trees, and though they are larger then the small birds they were created from, these trees easily support their weight.
Past the forest is a desert, kids mutated into vultures, reptiles like snakes and lizards, all sorts of deserty creatures go this way. The land is mostly flat, with a few sand dunes, cacti, and rocks. The vulture mutants usually fly high, and sometimes go to the land for food and rest. The reptilian mutants often just stay on the ground, sometimes staying behind the larger rocks.
To the north of the plain is a mountainous region, where many of the mutants fit for this zone head, like mountain goats, mountain lions, and many raptors. The mountains often range from 1,000 feet tall, to 15,000 feet fall, and along the mid-range of these are where a majority of the mutants live. The mountain goats live on the ground often near small streams, and small caves. The raptors often live in the higher range of these mountains, mostly on rock shelves and sturdy trees. Mountain lions hide above ledges, waiting for the right moment to strike.
To the south is a tropical landscape. Filled with many animals, insects, and more, these areas are common for feral mutations. Panthers, jaguars, cougars, pumas, all of these are some felines that live here. There are also insects; butterflies, ants, and some that can barely be seen are also common here. But, clans begin to gather together and go to war with others. These tropical areas are more known for wars than species. Some other distinctive creatures can include poisonous frogs, very large snakes, huge beetles, and lots of spiders.
Past the jungle is a Savanna, where the grass is tall, and the weather is warm. Many big cats populate this area, and there is a medium sized forest towards the west end. The inhabitants are Lions, Tigers, Cheetahs, Hyenas, A couple Giraffes, Gazelles, and a variety of others. The lions, tigers, and cheetahs often live by large tree or rocks, using these formations to house their packs. The hyenas often live in rocky areas of less grassy areas, and make small dens in the ground around these areas. The gazelles and zebras simply walk along in the deep grass, often being in large herds.

Character paragraphs for entry, describe your appearance, name, age, personality, any memories over a few posts. Your mutation should be in depth and blend in well with your character in a way so that you mostly look like a regular person. There will be a small intro in the beginning where you tell your story from the house.
The typical mutations would be the main points the separate animal species, like for raptors, you would need some sort of transparent wing, a curved nose for a beak-ish thing, and talons on their feet. If you'd like to know what your animal needs, just ask.

On the sidewalk, stood a boy that was about the age of 11. He was more of an unknown, but he was fine with that. His short, black hair was pretty much the first thing you would notice in the daytime.
As he stared at the house, he wondered what all the chatter about this place was. He had heard about it for a while, but not really having it told to him, just hearing the conversation.
Something about 'haunted'?
He didn't know.
All he knew was that he would like to see it for himself. He slowly began to creep towards the house. He didn't care what the others thought. They didn't really know him that well. He wanted to seek out what was in this place and make it back alive.
Well, don't they all? |

A small girl stood in a group of kids on the sidewalk, her light blue eyes glancing staring with fear at the house. Her hair was a pale brown, and streaked with natural blonde highlights, making her look wild.
She was probably around eight, and her style of clothes reflected that, with a small sparkly pink tutu, and a white shirt with a small cat on it. Her shoes were simple, only being tennis shoes, but she was always proud to show that they lit up.
In her hands she clutched a small stuffed cat, it looked almost exactly like a calico, besides the fact that it's fur was streaked with mud and dirt. Around it's neck it wore a small pink collar, with a tag on it that said "Kitty". |

Bravely, he walked up to the door, and turned the handle. He slowly opened it, and looked inside the house. Indeed, it was a little broken down. This is... modern? he thought to himself.
Hesitantly, he took his first step into the house. |

| The small girl watched him go into the house, he didn't seem to even be afraid of the ghosts. She glanced around hesitantly at the others, and took a small step forward. Towards the house that everyone in her neighborhood feared. |

(I don't exactly get it that much. Read it all, can you tell me what happened in a nutshell and how old they were when they get released into the Ecocave?) Rodrigo4ever wrote 'EVERYONE IS REPLACABLE'

Yes! It me, permanentmintpie20 and Refundable on mah new account.
A scruffy looking boy walks down the road at a fast paste. He was wearing a Black plain jacket with a white shirt under it. He wore Grey jeans and nike shoes. He has blue ocean eyes, and brown scruffy hair. He wore a NY hat over his hair just to cover the scruffy-ness of it. His age was ranged around 9, but he always acted tough so it was quite hard to tell. He was tall as well, around 5"7 or around that type.
He was dared by his friends to sleep in the so called 'Haunted house'
He crossed the road to get to the house. He noticed other people at the house. "Hello there, whatcha doing?" He says not bothering to let them know he is there.
He walks up the stairs to where the other kid is.

(And we were mixed with the DNA of an animal then we were kicked into an ecocave to live, is that correct?)

(Right, I get it now.)
A large-ish kid with brown hair and eyes leaned against a wall on the back side of the supposedly 'haunted' house, playing with his GameBoy Colour. He rubbed his eyes, realising a bird just dropped... something on his jeans. He did not make any remark, he made a small face, and wiped it off. He was about 8 and a quarter, although by asking him you wouldn't know that. (nu metagaming plox) This house wasn't haunted, it just makes you have really bad luck...
(Close enough?)

I look at the girl and laugh.
"Ghosts? Bah, rubbish, anyway I am. My friends dared me to go in anyway, I am going to prove them wrong."
I walk into the house not scared at all. I look around seeing nothing haunted, I start to walk further in and shout out "See!? Nothing haunted, Its fine!"

| The boy crept around the corners of the house, and became less worried at the sights of nothing. "Maybe there isn't anything." he whispered to himself. |

The kid would look around the corner, and spot the person going in. He would wait for everyone to leave, so he can go in. (Going into first person.) I mean, all the cool kids are doing it! And if there were nasty ghosts, they would nab that first kid and that girl first!

I shout to the girl.
"If you sooo scared, go with me then. I'll prove you nothing wrong with this place"
I stand there in the middle of the room waiting for her response. I look at all the portraits of random people around me and how they look weird.
