| Get a large electric fan, Plug it into a wind turbine, Point fan at turbine's blades, Spin the turbines a few times, Then bingo! Free power! |

You cannot do this because of friction.

@Cat
Apply grease to the blades and bearings. |

| No matter what you do there will still be friction. Even if the blades were somehow floating it would slow down from the air friction. |

| Instead of this lets invest in solar sail spacecraft |

"Instead of this lets invest in solar sail spacecraft"
two things
first off
op is joking
second off
how will investing in extremely expensive spacecraft solve the energy problem?
if anything we need to determine a workable alternate energy solution before the oil cuts off |

| I've always thought about powering cars with magnets. Using the North + South poles to spin the axle. |

nope
what goes in comes out
there is no ultimate energy source loophole
our best bet is to find a large source of some sort of fuel offworld that is almost limitless in quantity
for example, if we could do something with the massive amounts of hydrogen in the universe we would have tons of fuel |

@Un you would need energy to reverse the polarity inside the axle. Its a shame.
Build solar panel on mercury then use a solar sail to deliver the elecricity to/fro Earth. Next we convert that to Hydrogen and fuel our cars with it. Energy solved. Global warming halted. Ohyus |

| Magnets don't require fuel. However they do have energy, but I didn't realize the energy in magnets ran out. |

| Or we can just build geothermal plants everwhere and convert it to hydrogen fuel. Next we shall colonize mars |

Mars has no convection currents. |
