| I love too, I do all the time. I have a 4 hour playlist. What do you guys do? Do you need silence, or do you need music? |

I normally listen to either [any of eminem's songs] or the Song of the Lonely Mountains (yes that's a real song).
But a friend showed me this band called "Bag Raiders". They're all I've been listening to today.
also, I hear a lot of scripters listen to Daft Punk. |

| I just preordered Starbound and got the official 529mb soundtrack for preordering. So I'm going to be listening to that for a bit. |

I listen to a huge playlist of Cake, Franz Ferdinand, Arcade Fire, Simon & Garfunkel, Weezer, Mumford & Sons, The Beatles, Queens of the Stone Age, and Leonard Cohen.
There's a great playlist called musicForProgramming(); that I used to listen to and that was several hours but now it just gives me a headache after Ludum Dare 25. |

@LP "Simon & Garfunkel" Yes, just yes.
I listen to music while I am programming all the time. Often it's surprising with my music taste that I can even concentrate. I normally have a mix of Rise Against, Bring me the Horizon, Simon & Garfunkel, Chase Coy, Crown the Empire (Acoustics mainly), Lydia (Probably most), Three Days Grace, Demi Lovato (Softer music), Johnny Craig, Parachute, Young Guns, He is We, Sum 41 and The Lumineers.
It also depends on my mood, but that's normally my average. |

I just keep Pandora on the Queen station. I pretty much get all of my favorite music from the 70s-80s (due to varieties).

| Well, I couldn't directly answer "Do you need silence or do you need music?" It really depends on how much I need to focus. |

I like to relax when I'm programming so I listen to dubstep, drum and bass or some filthy electro house.
Yes, relax. |

Lots of Vocaloid. I have a playlist that I randomize, but I don't normally use it, or I just plug headphones into my phone and use shuffle on that. Otherwise, I just pick a song (which I'm bad at doing). |

I either listen to my Spotify playlist or to this: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLX2MjbJ6GIceq8YbAPJ0ExF_yRUafQkLG
The videos in the playlist make good background music. |
