if we do go with that "survival on an island" thing i want it to not be you know generic
maybe not even an island an entire planet to themselves that they are placed on for the sake of experimentation |

genetic tinkering would be a bit too generic honestly maybe they're all different species from different planets and such? |

| @Quasar: Oh, for crying out loud, good ideas are often based on stereotypes! But mixing two or three stereotypes together is how a good story is formed... |

| thats a point made pookie but i think that just having an advantage based on their species would be good enough |

| @Meek: I was thinking such as adjust someones sight so that they can only see radio-waves, make someone hear pitches too high for normal humans to hear, give someone purple skin, etc. |

| Using the genetic tinkering stuff. It's quite interesting what you can think of, using stereotypes... |

minor genetic altering wouldn't be too bad, but /only/ minor
possibly the top students in different areas (physical areas, mental areas, maybe some planets are inhabited by species that possess "powers" and they are tested on that) from different planets are all gathered to go to the very top school in the galaxy
the entire school is revealed to be a sham, though; it's a project funded by the space union to put the top students from around the galaxy to the test
there's two things that could be
1. the union had been planning for all these students to eventually meet at this stage from before they were born; they were genetically altered as they were about to be born
2. they are genetically altered when the sham is revealed |
