So I'm building a place called MTA after the subway in NYC. I want to know what are the best and easiest ways the make it better.

Depends on what you want to create. If you want to make it better, don't use free models XD. Learn how to script and build things from scratch.

People will recognize a lot of free decals.
To make your own use your computers graphics program (Paint or Paint.net or Photoshop) to draw your own decal and save it to your computer. Then go to your inventory, click 'Decals' and then click on 'Create' (up at the top). Click 'Browse' and look in your files and upload your image. |

Well, is it okay to use free decals, unlike free models?

Yes, but free decals are never that good. It's difficult to find one at the correct resolution to fit your brick. If you put a decal on a brick taller or wider than the decal, then it may become distorted.

Since it's in a subway, you should add grafetti and trashcans to make it sound cooler in a way.

To me, its fine to use free decals, but after reading some commnet above, it may distort the image I guess?

You can make your place better by looking around at other train/subway stations that people have made, see if you missed any crucial parts. Then, see what you can add that's unique to YOUR subway/train station. :)

I agree. If your going to have a good subway/train station, you need to have realistic features. If you do that, you're golden.

Thanks, well I'm in NYC right now, riding the subways, thats what gave me inspiration for my place. I can't do curves because I'm using my own custom track and suck alot on making curves. The decals I use dont disort :) Well, I'm thinking that I should renovate (Reset and start from scratch) my place and use your tips. Thanks alot you guys!

Here are some suggestions:
First of all, use meshes. Make the trains as realistic as possible. Use featherweight bricks to help make the trains less laggier. Make sure those bricks are welded to each other.
You know how New York train stations are very dirty? Add garbage cans and trash bags around the station. Throw some slurpees around.
Make the parts as detailed as possible, and try to make decals very realistic, add the graffiti onto the decals too. |

You can't choose featherweight parts. Updates have made many parts 'featherweight' by taking up less processing memory in your computer.
