It's clearly not Arabic. Anyone who has even seen a glimpse of Arabic would know that.

Yeah it's pronounced like a long s.
Used in some German words to my knowledge, like ich heiße celestus, i am called celestus or might be i am named celestus

| I've always called it an "eszett" because that's what my teacher called it at one point. Not sure if it's the real name, though. |
