| Lemonade stands are illegal. They violate several laws such as operating without a business license, lack of adherence to health codes, and child labor laws. But yet the government doesn't do anything to stop lemonade stands. |

True, they do violate laws, but do you know how outraged the media and public would be if the government started cracking down on Lemonade Stands?
Libertarian outcries: "Nanny state!" "Down with laws!" "Down with government!" "Stop the government from harassing the kids and halting their dreams!"
I personally don't see lemonade stands as something serious though. What, do you think a kid is going to poison the lemonade? Would child labor laws kick in-- Not really, its the child on his OWN account doing the work without anyone telling him what to do, and he WANTS to do it, he's not forced to. Business licenses? Who, what? What's that? Sorry, I can't hear you because Congress is too busy fighting with each other over money than enforcing laws like business licenses. |

I bet your ass that if the government decide to make lemonade stands illegal the economy would go down the toilet. heehee
Good think lemonade stands aren't seen in Spain (maybe because of the law regarding the possibility of the food or drink item being "unsafe"). |

In the 1950s, it took 1 day to open up a shop.
Now, it takes 6 months.
We need to drop all of those silly regulations, not enforce them. |

And also, they provide unnecessary distraction when you're going to go home. "Want a lemonade?" "No." "Want to make a donation?" "No." That takes up like 2 minutes of your life, and we all know you can't waste that much time.

| I don't think that leamonade stands are a big issue. If the government suddenly ignored all the big issues and went 'We'll focus on lemonade stands' would you be happy?I mean for goodness sake some kids are just trying to make a few bucks. |
