| First you learn to capitalize proper nouns, then you start looking at other people's stuff and the wikis. Stay away from LuaLearners at all costs, though. |

Wiki is still pretty bad place to learn from for the inexperienced user.
I recommend just reading scripts and making your own and trying to understand them. |

Capitalize proper nouns hypocrite. Grammar has nothing to do with learning Lua, so you can stop acting snobby because you use good grammar on the internet. |

"Grammar has nothing to do with learning Lua" Not having an understanding of how syntax works will be your downfall with any programming language. Grammar is simply the rules of syntax, and your compiler will be strict.

| But his grammar is barely THAT bad that he deserves to be flamed over it. He would be fine learning Lua with his current standing on knowledge of English. |

It's kid friendly because I used that to learn LOLOLOL. Until I learned how to read ROBLOX Wiki. |

You'll find some script formats are easier to read than others. Eventually you'll learn script formatting that makes a lot of sense to you (and hopefully to others, too). Having one line of text is hard to program on, and hard to read.
But I'm glad you're starting to learn. Scripting is a valuable thing to know, and not just in roblox. Kudos. |

Lua is unfortunately like neither of those, hahahahahah.
HTML isn't much of a language. Lua, especially RBX.Lua, is a lot like Javascript, so if you're encompassing that as part of "I know HTML" statement, then Lua should be very easy to learn. Otherwise, it's a new language.
Now, I'm not saying your Java knowledge won't be useful for Lua, but you won't find a use for it until a couple of months in. Once you start learning metatables, your Java knowledge will come into play. Metatables are Lua's way of saying, "hey, I can be object oriented!" |

If you cannot understand the syntax of a language, you're going to have problems, no matter the language you use.
