I find that most of VGF is highly against them, as a majority of VGF is, "OH GOD UR TOO CASUL 4 ME IM A HARDCROE GAMER I PLA Y GAMES THAT REQUIER HARDCORENESS GAMES WITHOUT HARDCORWENSS SHUD BE BANNED", so today I shall be defend them, and I'm sure VGF will rip me to shreds for disagreeing with them, but I don't care. So... First case, what game where would you get more enjoyment out of? One where you run around like an idiot looking for something, sometimes for hours, or one where it's pointed out and you can progress. Now, I'm sure you're all thinking, "OH UR 2 XCASUL THE ADVNTUR IS IN DA JURNEY, AMIRITE?'. Now, this attitude is fine in a JRPG or a Puzzle Game, but think of trying to do this in a gigantic open world game, such as Fallout or Skyrim (And I'm sure with the mention of that game, half of VGF flips their tables.) Not so fun, I'm sure most of you are saying. Now, on to the second case. You must think of other people. Now, it's all fine and dandy if you don't like Map Markers, but I know some of you out there want them outright removed from every game ever. But, you must think of other people. Other people may want, or need them. Now, I'm sure your instinctal response is already taking over, most likely it is, "DEY NEED 2 LRN 2 LV WITHOUT DEM SO DEY CAN HAV DAT SESNE OF ACHIEVMENT AN GET BTTR SKLLS!!1" Now, here's the thing; THEY DON'T WANT ANY OF THOSE THINGS. This is a concept some/most of VGF doesn't understand, just as dragons in Skyrim don't understand mortality. (And now half of VGF punches their computer in rage.) Third, and (THANK GOD, I'm sure you're saying.)final case. There's the consipracy that Bethesda is using this concept to appeal to, quote-unquote, Casual Gamers. Not only is this a lie, but is completly outlandish. Bethesda can't maintain the formula for say, Morrowind, when they have changed dev teams twice already. Plus, Bethesda must've recieved numerous complaints regarding the lady with horrible directions, as I'm sure you all remember, in Morrowind, so they're probably trying to fix this issue.
Thank you for reading, and if you still have your opinion, and I'm sure you do, because I'm an idiot for disagreeing, good evening. |

@Liam Yes, I'm aware I did that, this was completly rushed and I had my state writing test today, so I decided to ignore basic grammar for today. |

Ya, but you know they're all going to come back with stupid thinks like, "Get out idiot."
Or the famous one that people give me, "I hope you commit suicide." |

| And if this is popular/gets as much hate as I know it will, I'll make another rant on a different topic. |

Actually I have a feeling they're ignoring this and still silently wishing I was dead. Oh well, you seem like a nice person.
I mean, you have Starwars in your name, you must be cool. |

This thread is true, markers only help people. Try to get around a place you've never been before without a map, it would be pretty hard
Never tell me the odds |

| I'd imagine map markers would be very silly in series like the elder scrolls and fallout, where you are supposed to adventure. |

I agree, I only use map markers when I'm tired of walking around the map or when the place is across the map. |

I don't mind map markers I just hate in an adventure games that you can "fast travel" and beat the game in 2 hours like that |

@TheReal No, they're actually more useful in games like that, due to their massive size. |

I agree. I think, though, you should have the option to turn map markers on and off or do like Bioshock and have a button you press that points the way. That way, they can help regular people, and "hardcore" players don't have to deal with them if they don't want.

@Killer Good idea. It'd be better as something you press once, and not something you hold. Just thought of that. |
