with all of your non-existent money, you'll hire a non-existent team that would laugh at you for trying to direct the development of a non-existent game when you have next to no knowledge of coding.
good luck

| It is very hard. Even if your just a "one-man band" in the industry of Indie Gaming it's still very hard. But you could do it. Just need the right knowledge of coding (which I am lacking as well) and a good working team and you could do it. |

@Mario IT matters what you want to do in the industry. All you really need is the training in designing/programming/pixel pushing, ect.
Then you need to find a company that wants to hire you. XD |

| Oh. Like I said with proper knowledge of coding, pocket money (little bit of gaming money going towards it etc.) and a good working team you could do it. Since you wish to use Nintendo's license you could ask for like how to code the characters or something to get you started. Then with those 4 things you can be a well oiled machine making an indie game. |

@MArio I encourage you to develop your own game. Even if you have a good idea for a Mario game, it would take a long time for you to be able make it. (Age limits and all)
You can probably warp the idea to your own game, and create documents off of that. |

you really don't know how becoming a developer for any closed platform works do you?
>get massive amounts of coding experience >apply to develop for a console >if accepted, pay outrageously large contract fee >have to pay to even begin development on a game, including extra for every patch/update
even if you want to try getting a loan, good luck with "pocket money" and next to no coding experience. that would be like applying for a loan to open a five star restaraunt with no knowledge of how cooking works.

You sound so hopeful Nintendo will take you in so seriously.
Have you designed any other games before?
P.S. Oh, if you want to program by yourself, I suggest you use Unity. It's a little advanced, but it you know Unity, you got a good chance of a job in the industry. (As my guess.) |

by the way, you would need marketing or your game is dead on arrival - and that's assuming it isn't already since you can't code and your 'studio' is brand new.

| Just start by "cartooning" your ideas on to pieces of paper, get a couple guys who know a little bit of coding (if you can't find gamer's who can't do coding use a book and one of those free basic game making sites) and then well go from there. And it sounds like a good idea making your own Indie Game. |

>unity >relevant outside of isometric rpgs/p&p rpgs
ha. no. at least with unreal engine you get applicable knowledge that you could possibly use.
although, most publishers use in-house engines so that's kind of irrelevant anyway.

you're acting like that's easy, even cheap studios like gamemaker are incredibly complex (at least for entry level users) - plus they don't involve any coding whatsoever. the studio essentially does it for you, at least in my experience.

The unreal engine is for the big budget games from how I see it.
I wasn't too sure what game he wanted to make.
I was assuming he was going to do something simple. I just didn't want to be ther idiot who suggests Adobe Flash. |

| I bet in his mind he wants to make a beginner's game that's sort of complex yet simple to make. I get that would be a little hard but you know we can dream and some day we might actually get to that dream. |

@Imp True. I haven't done a whole lot of research on it. Although I do know it's a FINE, FINE program that we should treat as a god.
Yes.
Let's do that.
@mario I hate to shut down all your hopes and dreams, but really, it's not that easy to plan that out. |
