Once you install the Player by clicking on the Play button on the website, Roblox Studio will be installed. In the Start Menu there are some shortcuts under Roblox. There is one for Roblox Studio and one for Roblox Studio 2.0. It's better for new users to start with 2.0 since 1.0 will be removed the beginning of next year. An icon will be installed on your desktop. If you somehow installed the really, really old Beta version (66), you must first uninstall all versions of the Studio. Then you go to any Place on the website, hit Play, and it will recreate links/shortcuts to the new Studio. If you can't find icons on the desktop, look in the Start Menu under Roblox. Clicking the shortcut will install/update Studio and start it up. You can tell which version you have by going to the Help menu and clicking About. Once you've started up Roblox Studio you come to a Start Page where you can log in. At this point you can create a new place, click on Build, or click Edit from the start page. You can also load a Place file off your hard drive (if you have one). Clicking Build starts up Build Mode. This is similar to clicking on Build from the website except it runs inside Roblox Studio instead of a Player. This mode has some advantages. You can run around and build as your avatar and you have the power of the editor to do things you can't do in Build Mode like scripting. You can either use the tools in Build Mode or you can use the ones in Roblox Studio. Edit Mode is more powerful. It works a lot like how a 3D editor works. You have more control with your camera since you're not limited to running around with your avatar. We use Edit Mode here to create games and develop Studio. There is another mode called "Play Solo". This is a great way to test out your Place. Under the Tools menu is a Test menu. Here you can play a Solo game, start up a server, or join a server that you've started. Play Mode is very similar to Build Mode except without the tools at the bottom. Remember not to save in Play Solo mode. If you do, you might accidently overwrite your place file. However, it's a great way to test out your scripts and see how your game plays. While you're working on your place it's a good idea to save often. When you're ready to let other people start playing you can publish your place to the website. Save to different files names (like add "_1"," _2", etc. to the filename) so you have old versions that you can go back to in case you mess up something. Sometimes while you're editing you might accidently close view windows or hide toolbars. View windows are the ones you can dock along the edges of the editor. You can also float them as windows. To get one to show or hide, click the View Menu and then the one you want to toggle on or off. Another way is to right click on the toolbar, titlebar, or menu. This will show a pop up menu with all the toolbars and view windows with checks by the ones that are visible. Toolbars can be rearranged or hidden if unused. See this FAQ for more information: http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=83963266 http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/Studio has some information on using the older tool. We'll be adding and updating as soon as we can. |

| There is no link. It installs automatically with the Player. You can find a shortcut to it on your desktop or in the Start Menu under Roblox. |

I have some questions; 1. Will this new studio be removing some of the build tools we use in the current studio? 2.If yes, What will be removed? Thanks 11076 |

| Studio 2.0 should support everything 1.0 can support. If something is missing, let me know. |

A model is a collection of parts or other objects. They can even include other models. The make a model, select a bunch of parts and click the Group button (or Ctrl+G). Ctrl+U to ungroup. A model will automatically be generated.
Another object is to open the Basic Objects View and create a new model from there by double-clicking on Model. Then you can create more objects with the Basic Objects View or drag and drop parts into the model. If you have the model selected, new basic objects will be parented to your model.
Once you have a model built, you can publish it or save it to a separate file for use later. |

| Ah, I see the confusion. Create an empty new place in Studio, it's the upper left "page with plus" icon. Now you can create a model. |

| Hit the Windows Key. Then type "Studio". Enter. Select "Roblox Studio 2.0 Beta". |
