Well, Scripting Helpers members aren't bothering to answering this question but I was wondering if you will.
How does a ScrollingFrame work? I was reading through the Inventory Gui Scripts, and it confused me...
Thanks,
Storm |

Simple really. I'm not entirely sure if it can be explained without examples, though.

| ClipDescendants is MUCH easier to use than the RbxGui library. In some cases, it can even be made much more aesthetically pleasing (I bet you that I spelled 'aesthetically' incorrectly, so if I have, please correct me.). |

Thanks.
Twas' too lazy to go and dig out my ten year old pocket dictionary and read it in almost-darkness to find the word 'aesthetic'. |

or just use chrome. chrome tells you if you spelled something wrong. if you don't use chrome, you must be stupid. |

| Oh, and how would you use ClipsDescendants to create a Scrolling frame? |

| You wouldn't use ClipsDescendants to create a scrolling frame. You would use it to clip the descendants of the frame when parts of them are not inside of it. |

Just make an external frame.
Make a frame inside that external frame called 'Container'.
You put all the items, buttons, images inside that container.
Make sure the external frame has 'clipsdescendant' turned on.
Easily move the 'Container' up/down to make an easy scrolling frame.
However, the hard part is the main up/down function; You'd have to basically set the maximum amount it could go up or down, and I've been working on a touch scroll frame as of lately, which works, but could easily go down more than it needs to be.

Every single popular browser does that. Mozilla Firefox does it and I just checked Opera and Safari; they both do it. I cannot test Internet Explorer, but I'm pretty sure it checks it too.
Oh, and thank you for telling me I'm stupid. |

It's actually very simple: You call the function, it returns 4 values, a Frame, two ImageButtons and a function.
You parent GUI objects to the Frame, so they are laid out. The buttons are for moving up and down, and the function is for recalculating the layout in case you add more objects. |

I use Internet Explorer.
idk what the hate is about, it's fast, doesn't crash often, it does have a spell checker, and comes pre-installed with Windows....the only reason I'd use Chrome is for the plugins or dev tools |

The hate is about all the harm IE has caused to web development in the past.
Also, Chrome's development tools aren't really something special. They aren't actually part of Chrome, they're part of Webkit, which Chrome uses and which was actually created by Apple. That is why Safari has the same tools. Furthermore, all popular browsers have development tools, including Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox and Safari. I think IE does too, but I'm not sure.
Also, Mozilla Firefox beats every other browser with its development tools, and the new development tools bar in the beta version is amazing. Mozilla Firefox has actually always been winning in that category, starting with Venkman and the DOM inspector, then later with Firebug, and now with its own built-in development tools. Firefox also wins in everything that concerns privacy.
Chrome used to be the fastest browser, but isn't anymore. There isn't right now a browser that is faster than all the others in all or most categories enough for it to matter. Chrome, however, does have the best interface design.
Opera has more features than all the other popular browsers, and these features are well implemented. The interface is well designed, but not as smooth and minimalistic as Chrome's.
Safari is slightly behind, but is the best browser for Mac OS X because of its integration features (I'm on Mac OS X and I'm not using it, but that's just me). It also has some innovative features that cannot be found in any other browser.
While Chrome has the most user-friendly customization system, Firefox is the most customizable browser, in particular because of all the settings that can be changed in its about:config page.
I'd conclude that Internet Explorer and Google Chrome are good for clueless users who aren't very experienced with computers, that Mozilla Firefox and Opera are good for experienced users and that Safari is good for Mac OS X users.
I think I managed to write a mostly unbiased post about the different browsers. |

The speed difference isn't because Chrome is faster, it is because it gave you a new clean browser. Re-installing Internet Explorer would have had the same effect. As time goes on, browsers become cluttered with extensions, plugins, toolbars, etc, and become slower and slower. This is why I completely reset my web browser every two months. |

IE's getting better, but it's still slower than Chrome.
But for me, that's the other way around. (e.e): IE is faster than Chrome for me. Weird, eh? |

@dig Same. I've got Chrome on my computer and I compare it to IE10 and the web pages load massively faster on IE. Most pages are about 2-3 seconds faster. And the spell checker on IE is much better than Chrome's, although it's a shame you can't disable it for a certain element without opening dev tools and changing the textbox to be a non-spellchecked box. You can make IE not check spelling with some HTML tag or class, not sure about Chrome (it's possible it's not implemented because Chrome spell checks almost every box I've come across).
As far as interface goes, Chrome has the least elements on its standard view. However, I prefer IE's design without any toolbars (uglyfest) to Chrome's. All dem block things just appeal to me, whereas Chrome has curves.
I believe Julien's post was mostly or completely unbiased. A lot of that hate means bias goes everywhere. I wouldn't be able to do that since I haven't used all major browsers extensively. However, I do know that either Chrome or IE's JavaScript engine is the fastest. They may be tied, but perform better at different things. Not completely sure, but I know that IE's engine is a bit weird since MS made it from scratch. |

'Ie has had so many security issues,'
Bias is rite dere. A study last year put all browsers at the time through a test with 50k websites that were known to be malicious and IE blocked the attacks on about 95% of the pages. That was better than all of the other browsers in the test (although they are a bit old now). The other 5%, you wouldn't download the virus or even go on the site at all. They are probably all fixed now. |

I think this thread is the most interesting example of thread derailment I've seen in the past months.
How it happened in this case:
- Someone asks how ScrollingFrame works - Some people reply - digpoe says that ClipDescendants is better than RbxGui using the word "aesthetically", which he believes to be misspelt - I tell him that is isn't misspelt - 1waffle1 says that he should just use Chrome's spell checking - the thread goes completely off topic |

| When making that post; I was too lazy to exit out of Roblox Studio, open Chrome, go to roblox.com and login, and then find this thread again to post the message. But still, I belive it was my fault that the thread derailed, as I believed I misspelt 'aesthetically'. But still, when Colourful told me that it wasn't, that discussion should've ended there. |
