Anyone here like Final Fantasy? Maybe VI? VII? X? This thread is basically a place for Final Fantasy fans to chat.
I know that some fans started a "Kefka V.S Sephiroth" thing but please don't start a battle of who is the better villain. Both of them have epicness :)

Final Fantasy I was cool, but of course, it was dated. The mechanics all felt very stale.
Final Fantasy II was the same as Final Fantasy I, but with different characters.
I played the remake of Final Fantasy III on my old DS, and loved it. The job system was fantastic and the visual design was brilliant with the unique character appearance and traditional fantasy world.
Never played Final Fantasy IV.
Never played Final Fantasy V.
Final Fantasy VI was fantastic, but not quite one of my favourites. After pushing through a huge chunk of the game, the combat became extremely boring and I just couldn't go on.
As generic as this sounds, Final Fantasy VII was my favourite. I was simply stunned by the world, characters, music, combat system and how well thought out the whole experience was.
Final Fantasy VIII put me off the first time with the Junctioning, but after picking it up a couple of years later and trying it again I really got into it and loved the story and graphical upgrade from VII.
Never played IX.
Final Fantasy X is my 2nd favourite game in the series. This is probably due to nostalgic reasons, as X was both my first Final Fantasy, and one of my first PS2 games. The pacing of the combat and the cutscenes were incredible.
Never played XI. (ew, MMO)
Played Final Fantasy XII, simply didn't enjoy the combat. It didn't feel at all like Final Fantasy, the combat could be played in real time, the story was very one dimensional, and the characters were underdeveloped and boring.
Surprisingly, I enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII. It was the first FF game on current gen consoles, and although the game was very linear, the combat never became boring, even after playing 70 hours.
Never played XIV. (ew, MMO, but looking forward to A Realm Reborn)
inb4 nobody reads this

Too be honest I've never been a huge fan of RPG.
Although I've always wanted to like the series, I just can't get into it.

Played all 1-9, Tactics on Advance and DS and PS and Rings of Fate. And Theatryrhythm. AKA I'm a massive fan!
1 = Kinda okay. Not any good side quests or anything special to do other than grind for the final boss. The mechanics may seem stale but it's a good play.
2 = Oh please no. In this game you can easily grind your characters to super high levels due to its stat system meaning that at the beginning of the game your characters can become invincible. There is more of a story however, but there's a really broken mini game that gives rare items...
3 = It's okay. By far it's one of the least known ones. Kinda stale once again. But playable. Features a kind of one track story line. The DS version does give more character to the characters.
4 = It's great! It has a great storyline and it has that retro, good old storyline. the story isn't very show stopping though. Pick it up if you want! It's slightly challenging.
5 = Great for special runs. The class system allows you to do a white mage only run or a black mage only run. (These are really hard by the way.)
6 = It has a wonderful storyline and all the characters have great personalities and you really get to know their character and beliefs. PLAY THIS. And the magic system is coolios.
7 = Meh.
8 = Meh.
9 = Features great animations, great songs, great characters, great twists and story lines and to get the best party members (for 100% completion) there's a REALLY HARD challenge and a sort of time attack thing going on the whole game. By far one of the best Final Fantasies.
All 3 tactics. = Really easy, good storyline, features a class system similar to number 5. |
