Say I bought a game.
Then I lost it- having never played said game despite buying it.
Would it be legal to pirate a copy of the same game? |

| I think it is only illegal if you sell pirated games |

| Since piracy is illegal I guess it would be illegal to pirate the game. |

Going on from what Mage said, if you lose a game before playing it once, you probably didn't care about it in the first place.
Anyways, if you can't find the thing, just buy another copy. The publishers aren't responsible for making sure you don't lose yours. |

It'd be illegal, especially if you plan to sell it.

Im not sure if this applies to US laws but
When you purchase a game, you buy the license to use it, you dont have to own the original medium to retain the license, and you can make copies for personal use. Downloading a copy would be legal for you, but illegal to the distributor. Torrenting would be illegal because of how P2P works, when you download you automatically share which is illegal. |

@TheAsassin
"you probably didn't care about it in the first place."
Fun fact: It was a copy of my favourite game of all time. What I meant to say is, "Having never played it on this new PC". It was mistaken for trash by my parents. |

your ISP won't do anything about it as long as you continue buying internet service, they're required by law to send letters out (although i've never gotten one) but they're not going to rat out their customers since almost everyone has at least downloaded free music before

| Fascist organisations like MPAA use baiting and infiltration to gain IP addresses of pirates, they then contact the ISP to hand out information on the IP to connect it to a single person. |

Plus, the goverment says they will try to get people who pirate things. That is impossible, since 68% of people who use the internet pirate atleast one thing. It would take to much time to go through that many court orders. |
