Some facts abou the world in 1990:

-Population, 1.5 billion/6.9 billion in 2012
-Largest city, London, England with 4.5 million people. (Largest today, Tokyo with 31 million)
-Average age of death word wide- 33 yars (low but rising)
-Average age of death in 2010 is 67.8 years.
-1.1 million telephones in the U.S. in 1900
-6.92 billion mobile and land lines in the world in 2011
-20,000 automobils worldwide in 1900
-1 billion motor vehicals worldwide in 2011
-0 computers
-0 microwaves
-0 DVD's
-0 Cell Phones
-0 xboxes
-No XRAY machines or movies
-No antibiotics, fibreglass, nylon, televisions, radios.
-Biggest econemy in the world in 1914- America
-Fastest growing econemy in the world in 1914- Gemany
-Biggest Navy in the world in 1914- Great Britain
-Biggest Army in the world in 1914- Russia
-Biggest empire in the world in 1914- British Empire
-Canadas century was begining, as proclaimed Wilfred L
-Immigants flocked to settle in the West and the big cities of the East
-Canadas population grew from 5.4 million in 1900 to 7.2 million in 1911
-Wheat exports grew from $6.9 million in 1900 to $45.5 million in 1911
-Mineral exports grew from $65.8 million in 1900 to $103.3 million in 1911
-Value of manufacturing grew from $481 million to $1.165 billion
-Those working in factories and construction worked at least 12 hours a day/thousands were killed.
-Diseases took thousands of lives with tuberculosis and polio being some of the major ones
-Agriculture boomed as the west was settles/hard work sod houses rocks and trees.
-Steel plough really helped
-Various companies, Stelco, Canada Cement Co, etc..
-Lumber, mining and manufacturing fuel a rise in Canadian living standards at the same time.
-Loyalty to the Crown and to GB remains high as most Canadians still have been born in the UK or have direct connections to it.
-Era of unlimited progression and human fulfillment seemed to beckon
-Our tasjs to explore how this reality turned into the most cataclysmic century in recorded history- two world wars, the great depresson, revolution, holocaust, arms race, cold war, economic upheavel, terrorism, and political turnmoil!
