| Hitting your computer with a hammer is the equivalent of using a version of Windows later than XP. |

@joan >"windows 8 unfortunately"
Windows 8 is much better than Windows 7. And this is coming from someone unbias, since I mostly use Linux and Haiku.
@chincilla >"I can't afford anything else besides this Vista the home has..."
Linux is free. And it's only $80 for practically infinite installs of Windows 8. |

@joan
Really? It's very fluid and much easier to get around. I've always found the search functionality on Windows to be poor, but now it is literally instant.
You can easily get around anywhere on your PC with just a couple clicks. It's much more time efficient than Windows 7. :I |

... and OS designed for idiots... is confusing... That's pretty bad.
>"*You have to get used to Windows 8 or you're lost...like me...."
Eh, no? Windows 8 is so obvious, that you don't even have to think. When you first install it, it say, "move your mouse here to see the start menu."
And all you have to do is move your mouse there, and the start menu comes up, which is _extremely_ self-explanatory.
And besides the new start menu, the UI is pretty much identical to Windows 7's. |

@haiku it's a bit like the desktop imo i installed a program to bring the old start menu back so i can easily access "My Computer" and "Control Panel" in an instant and as for .pdf files I often play flight simulators, and when I'm learning new aircraft they give you a .pdf file, and it's easy to go back and forth between the simulator and the .pdf
