PvP isn't great unless you're doing team raiding but it's a great game. You'll only hate it if you end up wandering around and ending up in the Catacombs instead of Undead Burg.

Mikey speaks the truth. I did that and didn't pick the game back up for about three months.

I didn't end up in Tomb of the Giants as a SL 1. Honest. I didn't get trapped, honest. |

Fool of a Took! But in all seriousness, stay away from the graveyard until you've done Anor Londo and possibly New Londo Ruins.

| Just make sure you're REAL attentive, as I've seen deaths happen due to some switch you triggered but didn't notice. |

@santers
You don't really need to level up unless you want to wield heavier weapons or wear heavier armor. Heck, it's ideal to stay at level 50 at most with more points in health and endurance than anything else, because you can only invade up. I recommend Havel's Ring if you're going to wear heavy armor though, it brings down equipment burden... 50, I think, so you can still roll even in black knight armor depending on the strength required to wield your weapons.

when you reach the firelink shrine, look behind the temple for a graveyard. DO NOT TRY TO FIGHT THE SKELETONS, THEY WILL KILL YOU. pick up all the items on the corpses, most notably the winged spear and zweihander.
also, have your starting gift be the master key |

I use Havel's ring :-) I just avoid becoming human, so I don't have to deal with invaders. |

Aren't there some chests through an illusory wall or unnoticeable tunnel unless you look really hard?

Yeah, starting classes, 9 of them I think, but even wanderers can wear black knight armor so you're not restricted to anything.

there are no set classes, you do what you want after picking your 'class' which pretty much decides what your starting gear and stats are, but it's irrelevant later in the game which you picked because chances are you'll significantly change your playstyle.

Warrior and Knight are the ideal classes for people who like the kind of L O T R sword fight play style. But I really recommend putting most of your points into vitality and endurance, and then maybe 3-5 in strength.

| classes are just about what equipment you start with and tiny stat changes, nothing major at all. i started as a thief but i'm now a heavily-armored half-dragon pyromaniac with a club twice the size of me. |
