What's a Minercaft.jar? My computer doesn't have one. Should I make a file with that name? Please help.

Okay so you start up Minecraft, but don't log in yet. See the options button? Click that and a little pop-up menu comes up. There are only two options "Force Update" and something that looks like a link. Click on that and it takes you to your Minecraft.jar.
Hope that helps. |

Can't you use a Minecraft Forum instead of a competing game? -.-

@artix this is a video game forum @OP To find minecraft.jar you go to start, search %appdata%, click Roaming, click .minecraft, click bin, it's in there and you need to open it with winwar or some other program like that |

@mamaguy Just. Please. Get your arguments across without petty name-calling. He said he was kidding.

This thread is useless now because I don't have Java, something needed to open up the mod.

How do you play minecraft without java?
Have you even verified if your MC works? |

@TheReal I do play Minercaft without (the new) Java, and my MC does actually work. I just can't use the cape mod.

Minecraft wiki has a whole page on it. Youtube. Most mods will include instructions.
And you need a program to extract the files (I use WinRAR, but 7Zip also works.) |

| I wouldn't bother with mods, they just make me want to scream. I wish there was just some folder labeled "mods" and you could just throw them in there. |

@Dark
Search for the mod on the Minecraft Forums, it will include instructions. You also need either 7Zip or Winrar. I use 7Zip but both will work, and some mods require MCPatcher or Mod Loader.
Forth, Eorlingas! |

1.Search %appdata% 2.Click Roaming 3.Click .minecraft 4.Use winRAR or 7zip to open minecraft jar 5.Put the stuff in there. 6.Get java if you haven't gotten it yet. 7.PLAY 8.Don't play Roblox |
