alright, well first you gotta do the oder of operations, so lets do that
9 - 4 = 5
but its not that simple, theres more. as you can see, there was a hidden variable for obvious reasons. lets get those variables equalized.
9x - 4 = 5x
9x = 5x + 4
4x = 4
x = 1
now that we have the variable, we need to take into account that the y coordinate was 4, and the other coordinate was (3, 2). so lets find the slope.
y1 - y2 ______ x1 - x2
lets plug them in.
4 - 2 ____ 1 - 3
the slope is:
2 -__ = -1 2
there you go, i hope that clarified things for you. |
