So many problems with bullying and harassment on Roblox can be improved with the additions of two common features: ignore a user, and hide your online status.

Let's say someone sent you mean messages, or followed you to games all the time. Reporting them may or may not be effective. People can follow you around and bother you without truly breaking the rules. Even if you reported someone and they got a warning, or banned for a few days, that only slows them down. That doesn't make them leave you alone. Even if they were permanently banned, they can just make an alternate account. The solution? Make it possible to add users to an ignore list. Everyone on this ignore list would not be able to see you on Roblox anywhere, whether on the website or in-game. To them, it would be as if you didn't exist, and to you, it would be as if the person you added to your ignore list didn't exist.

Now, to hide your online status. It is essential that, in addition to an ignore user feature, Roblox add a feature to allow users to hide their online status. In other words, if you are online, but you do not want people to know you are online, you should be able to set your status to offline. At the very least, you should be able to choose an option that forces Roblox to ONLY show you as online, and NEVER say what game you are in. This way, users who do not like to be followed to games can turn this on to prevent people from following them.

These features will give powerful tools to everyone to stop bullies and trolls in their tracks. Roblox would just need to make sure the tools were simple enough so that any member, regardless of their age or internet experience would be able to figure them out with sufficient guidance.

I support. The only flaw I see is that if you block someone, they can make an alt and follow you around. Maybe you could ignore all the accounts from their IP or something? I've seen this suggested alot, though, and I think ROBLOX needs to pay attention to it.

it's so easy to make alts and the like that there's no point in a block button
an online status hiding button is stupid and pointless

@just

Online status can stay, but if you even make another alt, and the alt is making you mad, you can block it to. all profiles should have a blocking and Unblocking feature.

Although it is true that it's very easy to create alts, you could just keep blocking their alts rather than reporting them several times, which, as was said, only slows them down. Therefore, a block button would be a great addition to ROBLOX.

you can make about fifty alts in ten minutes
any attempts at blocking would be futile because of how easy it is to pump out alts

not to mention the fact that the filter is pretty restrictive and bans tend to be pretty big if you go around harrassing people so i seriously doubt you'd even need a block button

It's far from stupid and pointless. I'm not famous, and I still get followed around by people when I don't want to be followed. I can't imagine what it'd be like to be a famous user who is followed my dozens of people whenever they try to play a game in peace. An option to hide your online status would solve this problem, because then no one could follow you anywhere.

@others about the alternate accounts issue
It's still far better to be able to take matters into your own hands and block every alt that's made to harass you than wait for the moderators to deal with it, which would take much longer. It would be a lot easier for a bully to get tired out and bored if you can instantly block them whenever they make an alt than for you to have to wait for them to say something bad enough that you can report them for it.

Ignore would be a great function, but the status thing and following, you can just un-friend them, and set settings so they can't.

no it's really pointless, and if it's such a huge issue then purge your friends list and set like everything to friends only

uh no vigilante justice is not far better

no it wouldn't a lot of the people on here are quite dedicated and you'd be better off just waiting for a mod to step in

No, the current settings do nothing to stop people from following you. I have my settings set to not allow anyone to follow me, and people still follow me when I don't want to be followed, because a lot of the games I play are not popular, so it's easy to find me in the server list.

purge friendlist and set everything to friends only
alternative: stop whining about trivial nonsense, which would also be a nice change of pace

Incorrect. As I said in my other post, many games I play are not popular, so people can still find me in the server list even when I set my options to not allow anyone to follow me. Also, it's not "vigilante justice," as no actual action is taken against the offender's account. It just prevents people you don't like from bothering you.

Really, these are very common and basic features that I see on most websites. They should be added.

oh yeah, and you come off as really antisocial in that you don't want to be followed by people and just want to be left on your own when full roblox servers are the best roblox servers

don't be so whiny, there's nothing wrong with people following you unless you're incredibly antisocial which is what i believe you to be

haha no

no they shouldn't they're totally pointless and will only cause people to block other people because they disagree with them
