I've seen Halo 4 get a lot of flak for a while, especially from fans of the series, but I personally found it to be the best one yet -- and I've played every Halo game released, and have been playing since Halo was just the first game for the original Xbox.
So tell me -- how do you feel about Halo 4? Is it the best? Worst? Somewhere in between? What does it do right? What does it do wrong? |

| note that the game isn't as broken now due to custom maps in matchmaking which makes it more fun, though it still isn't really good |

@geth
-story is centred around master chief -adds diversity among players instead of everyone starting with the same things -'too easy' legendary-wise, 4 is hard than previous games on that difficulty. However, it is still rather challenging at some points. -ok -doesn't fit with lore circa halo 4 -The forerunner parts, no. But if you've kept up with the lore, maybe go on halopedia it'll make a little more sense. the terminals provide info on forerunners -can't disagree there -so |

@liam -story is centred around master chief halo 1, 2, and 3 had almost no master cheif dialouge because he is supposed to be a dark and silent character -adds diversity among players instead of everyone starting with the same things no diversity when everyone is using the op br and lr -'too easy' legendary-wise, 4 is hard than previous games on that difficulty. However, it is still rather challenging at some points. on easy-heroic it's still incredibly easy -ok alright -doesn't fit with lore circa halo 4 could have just said "well some survived" makes more sense then some of the other parts of the story -The forerunner parts, no. But if you've kept up with the lore, maybe go on halopedia it'll make a little more sense. the terminals provide info on forerunners no one should have to look up the story on the wiki (the reason i disliked dark soul's story) and i'm more confused about the covenant joining the forerunners and why they're even there -can't disagree there k -so so |

The campaign's good, reminded me of Combat Evolved.
There's a ton to love and hate about the multiplayer, though. My main problem with it was the CoD elements. |

Don't argue with Geth. If he doesn't like it, it's automatically bad.
I liked 4, really. Gave Chief a personality and focused around the mystery of the forerunners. Multiplayer wasn't bad, I don't see why everyone calls it a "CoD in space" when it's really not. CoD didn't invent loadouts. It's a bit easy, which opens the door for casuals, but hardcore Halo fans wouldn't mind.

| Its a good addition to the series. Probably the best IMO. I don't know why people are hard on it because it's "BECOMING CoD!!1". I mean, what is there that similar to CoD besides shooting? Loadouts have been around a while and it makes sense why Halo whould use the idea. Respawning immediatly? It makes it go more fast paced. Overrall Its a great, well made game that is worth the price. Story is awesome even though im sure the ending will anger a lot of hardcore Halo fans. If Halo was becoming CoD, this message whould be a LOT more rude. Btw, this is MY opinion |

@spysapper just say something like "one survived" or something everyone used it because it was awesome and it was one of the weapons that symbolized halo |

@Doctor
It was only good dual-wielded. Even then, it wasn't a symbolic weapon.

-Broke Master Chief by making him talk too much
But...the story is ABOUT Master Chief. Would you rather him continue to be this faceless mass of steel? When your franchise is as large as Halo, you're going to need a good character, especially if the game is about him!
-Broke multiplayer by including perks and weapon loadouts
Reach had loadouts, and nobody ever complained. Besides, the loadouts are very simple, they just give you a chance to play to your preferences.
-Broke single-player by making it too easy
Never noticed anything off about the difficulty -- Never felt too easy, but also never felt unfair.
-Removed Plasma Rife
Yeah, okay, that kinda sucks, but really, the Plasma Rifle had no real practical usage anyways -- I certainly never used it. And again -- Reach removed it too, so I don't see why Halo 4 gets the blame instead.
-No flood
BECAUSE THEY'RE GONE! The Flood was wiped out, it would make no sense if there was Flood, just like it made no sense in Halo Wars!
-Story doesn't make any sense
How? The Didact is an ancient Forerunner who has returned to take revenge on Humanity, because they wiped out numerous Forerunner planets in their quest to destroy the Flood. He plans to use the Composer to turn them all into Prometheans. The Librarian, his former wife, grants immunity to Master Chief, who was destined to save the galaxy from the Didact, because he's the "Reclaimer." Meanwhile, Cortana is going rampant, and Master Chief needs to return to humanity along with the UNSC Infinity. Seems to make sense to me.
-Spartan Ops has too much lag
Never experienced any lag at all during Spartan Ops.
-Is on console
Yeah yeah yeah, I play PC games too -- they have their flaws (A keyboard isn't as precise for movement as a joy stick is, but a mouse is easier to aim with) And also, Halo has always been on console except for some very minor exceptions with the first game.
I detect some very strong bias from this one. |

I don't know. Didn't really bother me, though. I never dual-wielded.

@xilirite actually odst removed it first reason #218949459749706-sub-289c why halo 3 odst is the worst halo game ever created (wars is debatable, but it was a good rts compared to the other horrid console rts games) |

"shortest campaign"
Not if you play it on a higher difficulty. Putting it on easy and speedrunning it doesn't equal the shortness. Plus, due to the open city, it can have the longest campaign if you actually play through the whole thing and fully complete it.
"easiest campaign"
Not really. Halo 3 had easier missions, in my own experience.
"no multiplayer if you already played halo 3"
It adds a map pack. Multiplayer =/= essential
"firefight had no matchmaking"
Why would you need matchmaking in firefight?
"and was only fun with multiple people"
Kind of the point of online firefight.

| Eh. ODST is a great game, but I honestly do feel it was probably the weakest in the series, not counting spinoffs. |
