All of you "rappers" are just ignorant 11 year old thinking you can get somewhere in life if you rap. Poems will actually get you somewhere (as I said on a different thread) But just in general, your voices sound like you're a scrawny little babies, you're all low-life white trash, and you all have nothing to do in their life but sit on a little lego site. I can't believe what this generation has come to. |

Yes there are no successful rappers in the world and poets are the biggest rage in existence. What do you consider "good poetry?" |

| Something with a story or a deep meaning behind it. Like in class we had to choose a poem, and I chose The Highway Man. I like love poems mostly, they're sweet and make me happy, and not dreaded and depressed like rap. |

A lot of poetry is depressing. A lot of rap can be uplifting.

None of the rap I ever heard. Poems can be depressing, but a lot of them are nice, sweet, and uplifting, depending on what type you like. They express emotion and what true love really is all about. NOT songs that send a message as to "pick up some h--s and f- some b-s" |

Sure a lot are sweet and nice. And a lot are depressing as well.

So according to you, all rap is the modern rap that portrays negative stereotypes that give rap a bad name. One of the default subjects for rap is also coming over a difficult life to get where you are now, how is that negative?
You don't know anything about rap. |

Lily you just hate rap because you never seen the variety. I consider rap a hobby and if I improve I could become a pro but it isn't like I don't focus on school. Please tell me one poet that made millions from ONE THING.... |

| Also, lyrics to any song, whether you want to admit it or not, is poetry. That includes rap. |

Honestly I rhyme better with a beat and this is why I prefer rap. Reading poetry is fine but I'd rather listen to one with a beat and if you prefer poetry I am fine with that. Let us listen to what we like free of flame from other people that like other stuff. We respect poetry you respect rap.... |

But from what I can conclude from what I have heard, there is multiple types of rap. Most of this generation's rap is what I've quoted. There is some rap that has a positive conclusion from it, but you have to face the fact that there is TERRIBLE rap, you're implying that there is nothing but good rap in the world. Let's face it poetry has more of a meaning, and more skill than rap. "A special world for you and me A special bond one cannot see It wraps us up in its cocoon And holds us fiercely in its womb.
Its fingers spread like fine spun gold Gently nestling us to the fold Like silken thread it holds us fast Bonds like this are meant to last.
And though at times a thread may break A new one forms in its wake To bind us closer and keep us strong In a special world, where we belong." ________________________________________________________________ "Black stripe, yellow paint Them nig- scared of it, but them h-- ain't Soon as I hit the club look at them h-- face Hit the pedal once, make the floor shake"
Hmm?
