Developing a new continent named 'Archelpais' for some RPs. I already got one done.
Posting here for safekeeping, ignore if this doesn't interest you.

Archelpais is a large and independent island-like continent set in isolation from the rest of the world. The self-sustatining continent is surrounded by what looks like a jagged oval coastline, with various rivers running through the mainland. The land of Archelpais is dominated between two, large and powerful kingdoms, which include the Seraph Reverence, a kingdom that represents all the goodness in the world - selflessness and generosity, settled in the mountainous north on the appropriately named Seraph Plateau. In the south-western volcanic region lies the militaristic and ambitious Obsidian Dominion, a functioning but corrupt kingdom on a march for control, against the Seraph Reverence.
Another aspect of Archelpais is it's abundance of magic. Thought long lost by even the brightest of Archelpaian historians, magic has recently made a reappearance on the continent. Found within ether-infused stones found often in the Desolvia Range, they allow only the intelligent and capable humans to absorb it's ether, a particle used to manipulate the energies that is magic.
The magic in Archelpais is often associated with a moral compass, from Light and Water, seen usually as the representatives of good, to Fire and Shadowether, often seen aligned with death and destruction.
The geography of Archelpais varies greatly. In the north, the cloud-high mountains dominate the landscape, with a burning and unforgivable landscape to the south. In the west, there are an abundance of plains and forest, and the largest water body resides near the east.

That's all for now. Buh-bye. |
