I'm working on a way to create GUI quickly and painlessly (as you may have implied from the title). Modify the script named "Script" in the function "Clicked", the rest should not be modified. It has some functions as you can see from it (no documentation will be given until I finish). I'm hoping to eventually combine my mad graphics skills and this to create the best GUI ever. So, here's what I have so far.

You cannot own a rule without breaking it or defying it in some way. Your link has nothing to do with offsite linking, because it is onsite.

Gah, it makes me open up roblox studio.
Just put it on pastebin. Tell us to follow our hearts to find it. My heart lies in pastebin. XP
That way, there are no links.
BUt that was a weird way to put it. I'm having a weird day. |

@Sroge445
Nobody said that, did they? All they said was that you couldn't post offsite links.
.. I think. I didn't read it, but i'm assured that that is correct. |

| Well, I looked at the GUI, and it'd be too hard for epic-noobs to use. Even some of the more advanced scripters would have an easier time doing it manually. I mean, adding more than 1 image would make it get confusing while using your script. |

| Well, when moving the GUI around, you should make it check to see if the mouse is on the image before sliding it around. Also, you may need to use less or no userdata values so the scripts could be piled multiple times in a hopperbin. |

| The userdata is to work around a bug in ROBLOX - you can't have a Selected event running and do all my GUI stuff in the same script I think. *Turns staff from tickle to hurt* |

What? Why not?
I shouldn't suggest that you compiled your code wrong, cuz, well, you're meelo, but I think if you assemble it correctly, maybe using coroutines or delay(0,function), you will be able to do so. |

Blech. It's old code. I wrote it a few months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if I messed it up.
It has something to do with that there's a "HopperBin _G" and a "Normal _G" I think. |

Well, I get lost when reading your code, but I could try sometime making it in 1 script and 1 local script.
You have a metatable in there to get the values of Mouse, but I don't know where you get it from. 0.o
Metatables scare me... =P |

That just turns the values in the model into a table so
Blah.x.Value
Becomes
Blah.x |

Hmm... I don't see how you could use the existing code to replace it. If I tried, I would probably just give up and start from scratch. I mean, the whole "from scratch" thing is not your favorite choice, but until you can find a way to modify this without userdata, it's your best choice. Otherwise, you'll have a script that works, but nubs will think it sucks cuz they can't use it. And who is this directed for: Competent scripters or the nubs?
I know I don't have much useful stuff to say, I just feel like my reply was being anticipated. Darn me and my engagement to a non-off-topic stream of posts. |
