THE ETERNAL DEBATE!

Ya' know I prefer the faster zombies.

I mean imagine being tracked down by a horde of infectees that are literally a breath away from you. They capture a sense of terror that the walkers do not.

But personally I want to see more of the Zombies we see in "Dead Island" have the Zombies reanimate sometime after being infected, and have them run about, and such, before slowly losing their mobility. It would please both audiences. And, make more sense in a way I guess.

It depends on the scenario. Thousands of running zombies isn't scary because its too outrageous (see World War Z)

A couple of quick ones could be pretty scary if done right.

A few walkers could be scary if the survivors are out of ammo and in a tight place. If its a few when they have ammo, etc. Then it isn't scary.

If its a lot of walkers, than either one is pretty frightening and it doesn't look as outrageous as a bunch of runners.

World War Z looks horrid. The book is far better.

I agree, with your point about walkers though. I recall playing Leon's campaign in Resi 2, and having no ammo, and a group of Zombies slowly walk up to me; definitely one of the most horrifying experiences in a video game. You're doomed, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Still, I think runners are intimidating I'll use 28 Weeks Later as an example although they're not 'Zombies' in a traditional sense. The point remains:

How about both?

Fast rage virus zombies that when you kill them and NOT shoot them in the head, they come back as slow undead zombies.

It depends on the time / amount really, in my opinion.

slow zombies aren't that scary at all considering they hardly pose a threat

That's what's scary. They get you when you least expect it.

Well when you're walking down a street and you have no weapons, an injured ankle, and you're surrounded by a bunch of slow, lumbering undead creatures that are slowly encircling you - I find that pretty scary.

I mean its something about the slow zombie that's more... poetic, you know?

A slow zombie would be scary if you trapped since a fast zombie would end it fast. Fast zombies would be scary if you're out in the open with no way to defend yourself. That's my take on all this.

slow zombies if you're stuck, have no way of escaping or if there are millions
fast if you can't fight back, run fast enough or cornered in a small, empty room
