I heard that they are giving teacher guns so they could fend off what would happen. I think it's a bad idea.
A teacher could get mad, and shoot a kid. Or if the teacher leaves the gun, an annoying kid might grab it and start playing around with it, then it accidentally fires off. |

I'll just tell you my reaction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efJ_g1-PViA
Guns+"Violence-hungry teenagers"=Disaster. Stealing lunch money will be easier. It'll be easier to kill classmates. Just allow to bring pepper spray and a taser. A taser is great for long range. And, for the love of all that is holy, LEGALIZE BULLETPROOF VESTS! Guns kill. Bulletproof vests save lives. |

Oh sure guys, hey I heard we can bring guns to school! Let's go shoot everyone! (just to be clear I'm totally kidding..) You know a little after the Sandy Hook shooting, there was a little boy at some school who got in a bunch of trouble for making a fake gun with his hand on the playground. I mean, geez, I used to do that all the time. "Oh, no!! There's someone pretending to use a fake gun! He's mentally ill! He's going to be a serial killer! Arrest him!" They go too far. seriously. Why would anyone allow guns at school after that, or allow them period? Sorry my post is so long.. I just get really into what I'm talking about sometimes lol

| Please don't tell me you believe this... they'd never allow students to bring guns into the schools... |

My mom says that if she taught at my school, she would replace the glass panel on her classroom door with bulletproof glass. (Every classroom door there has a glass panel, except outside ones like choir, band, P.E., Exploring Careers(in a portable), etc.) Well anyways.......................

You're purposely posing a childish straw man. They are referring to allowing the teachers to gain armed training and protect their students.
How is this a bad idea? |
