Hello everyone! I'm a fan of the Elder Scrolls series much like you [The reader], but one of the most top arguments about this series is the Dwemer (Dwarves) What happened to them? Are they extinct or are they just missing in another dimension, trapped in Oblivion etc. I would like to hear your opinion on this and why you think that! Have fun. |

| I have a feeling they were wiped out by something, or, as you can see how well they lock stuff away, maybe they locked away some of their race so that they would live on while the others died. |

That is a good idea... In one of the books in mentions they "Scorned the Daedra", Meaning they mocked them... Maybe a Daedric lord trapped them in a plain of Oblivion? |

I recall CHIM has something to do with a character knowing they live in a fantasy world. Kind of like the Matrix.
I could be wrong. |

Mephala might have trapped them in her plane of Oblivion, but the TES wiki says her main source of amusement is spiders and interfering in mortal affairs, so it might not have been her. Molag Bal is another likely prince but he seems to only want souls in general, not the Dwemer in particular. there's also the Daedric Prince of chaos, fire and destruction, etc. and according to the game loading screen he is most likely to interfere with mortal affairs.
I think either the Falmer killed them after a while, since their sense of smell and hearing was much better from being blind from the fungus they were forced to inhale. Another way they could have been wiped out is by their own centurions. Not even the Dwemer could control them, I'm sure. But it's probably most likely that after the snow elves(now the Falmer) retreated into the caves with the subterranean Dwemer(which were also elves) and the Falmer were pursued by other races to kill them. However the Falmer, by some miracle, managed to escape, but the other races ended up killing the Dwemer? Then again, that last one probably isn't likely. All their automatons are still in working condition, even the largest ones. The centurions probably drove them out but I'm thinking now that the Dwemer died from food or water shortage. They weren't Gollum, they couldn't catch fish with their hands and them devour them raw. They couldn't really drink any lake water either. They'd have to run out of supplies eventually

@Altair
You don't really even have to play the game, you could just read the lore and you could understand it. I read up on the Falmer for a while but I'm not sure about the Dwemer. They're like the Mayans of TES. They disappeared from the surface of the earth and just left their cities abandoned, we don't KNOW where they are.
